What are your thoughts on this, now that marijuana is stepping out of the dark and into the light as a source of relief for patience, what dos this spell for pharmaceautical companies if marijuana starts taking over as the potion of choice for patience?

nothing imo :eyesmoke:
i agree. i don't really think big pharma has anything to worry about with mmj. i know a lot of people say big pharma is a big reason why mj is still illegal, but i just don't see it honestly as there are way too many other drugs that big pharma pumps out into society and also way too many dependent on those drugs to think about switching to mmj..

i'm also not a big fan on mmj .. not saying that i don't think it helps people as that's obviously not true.. my whole thing with mmj is that it seems that a lot of people who use it smoked mj first to get high.. nothng at all wrong wtih that imo, i just mean i think a lot of people use the mmj thing as an excuse to smoke and get high legally, which i think is a big red flag against out and out legalization..

i'm sure that there are some people who use mj medicinly that have never smoked it to get high, but not nearly as many people who have smoked it prior to using it for medical reasons, and i don't see all that many people willing to give up on their conventional big pharma pills for mmj that wren't prior users..
just my $.02, i'm sure plenty will disagree with me for sure.. :D

I see your point but you also have to realize that regardless, MMJ has only been legalish for a relatively short period of time and that a HUGE portion of the population smokes. So of course a good portion of those who are being prescribed have smoked in the past illegally. I for one smoke because it elevates my mood, calms me, stop my anxiety, makes me more affectionate and loving. When I don't smoke my borderline personality disorder kicks in and i turn into a raging ass. Super mood swings, unexplained anger ect. Been like this since I was a kid. I just knew when I smoked... I felt better so I kept smoking. I don't have a scrip so I'm not making excuses I just enjoy it. Has also helped me quit drinking over the past several months.

i'll agree that a lot of people smoke, but i don't think the percentage is any where near what you might think it is for the entire population of the us .. and the percentage of sick people taking meds via big pharma are way higher then the percentage of smokers...

Sativex™ is coming and it'll be a game-changer. Once it's in pharmacies, that will be the moment of crisis. If the phalanges* of shield-wielding riot cops don't shut things down then in WA, CO, Ca etc. ... then legal weed has a hope in this land. But until then, the wise will remain rigged for silent running. Jmo. cn
