Ph up/down in soil

So I read somewhere the other day that you shouldnt use the the ph up and down chemicals when using soil, that it was meant exclusively for hydro. is this true?

What are the other options? Vinegar and the like, or are there soil-specific PHers?

I use it in my distilled water before I add it. I haven't had any problems so far, and also how are you supposed to PH your water if you don't use that stuff?

thats what i do as well. I just read in a forum the other day it was bad for some reason. other than that, what, dolomite lime in the soil to raise and vinegar to lower i guess. maybe the person was just talking about putting the chemicals directly into the soil.

Yeah maybe they were talking about adjusting the PH of the soil???? I don't know I use PH up on my water and I don't have that many problems.

Its only bad if your doing organics . PH up/down kills miro life needed in an organic grow.Otherwise its absolutly fine .
