BSIv2.0 Well-Known Member Feb 29, 2008 #3 Yes you can use Vinegar as a ph down. Some people claim to get slime on the roots when they use it. Ive never experienced that. I think its more likely light entering the res causing the algae. Anyway....yes you can use vinegar.
