PH problems (if you want to call it that)

A chiller or frozen bottle in your res and keep it below 76 degrees at all times. PH will rise if your system is working correctly and your plants are happy. The spike you speak about isn't really a spike, spike to me means in hours not days. What your experiencing "I think" is the normal swing. Here is what you do...PH balance your res at 5.6 and let her go...watch her daily, top up if necessary(PH balanced of course), and once it hits 6.2-6.2, bring her back down. I have found over years that DWC seems to be a lot more stable if R/O water is implemented. JAS

If your plants are happy and the system is running correctly, meaning dialed in, then ph should stay very consistant not rise.

Ok boys so either me my partner in crime or something fucky is about. im not really understanding this myself but here goes.....

the tri meter is plugged into a power strip i have with a timer i got from htg. 8 outlet 15 a. Pretty good lil feller. It has my air pump (.5amp? max) for my res plugged into the right side (which powers 24 7) and isnt interupted with the timer. the other side is pulling one of my 1000w lumitek ballast (8amps) thats all i have plugged into one power strip. The tri meter i bought yesterday was giving me false numbers. I tested tap water at the house im getting water from and it read 030ppm. its straight from the well. the temp was reading 80 deg. and ppm was over 6000. ok....already knew something was fucky because in the last 24 hours ive fed them 5 times label strength seedling GH expert line. everything it calls for with the diamond nectar etc under 2 1000w mh optilum bulbs and they grew 2 new sets of leaf and almost what looks like stretching or a node. incredable growth and very vibrant but dark green. Anyhow this is where things baffle me.

1. if you plug the tri-meter into the power strip the numbers are all fucky
2. if you plug the tri meter into the wall DIRECTLY the numbers are all fucky
3. if you plug the tri meter anywhere and leave it in the reservoir the numbers end up ...all fucky....
4. if you plug the meter into the wall DIRECTLY and get a cup/jug of nutes out and set the jug on a table the numbers read ph 6.2 ppm 520 temp 72 (raises to 80 when enters the room and cools down to 72 before next flood)

WTF is going on? is there a ground issue with the pump in the reservoir? my air pump is rated for a 55 gal fish tank and the line just runs around the exterior of the bottom of the barrel. other than that my res is pretty normal..just the pump at the bottom with the 3 suction cups. why is it that when you plug my tri meter into any outlet and put the meter in the res that it gives me these insane numbers and jumps around but when i test it outside of the res in a cup of water i get pretty good numbers as they should be because im following directions to a T and have done some decent research. Is it a power issue? a ground issue? has anyone had this problem before. help before i go all fucky on this tri meter and go get some fox farm and buckets:) jk im a hydro for life kinda guy! ill get it right or die trying!

(Im using the oceanus 1 controller hooked to an 18 site ebb and flow with sun leaves rocks 55 gal res btw)
