My stems have been turning purple, new growth has slowed or stopped and is growing tiny and spindly looking. I'm also starting to see small brown spots on some of the leaves but not all of them. possibly calcium, mag, zinc deficiency? any help on what might be causing my problems with the new growth coming in tiny and retarded looking and how to fix them back to health would be very much appreciated. Would be nice if a master grower with a lot of experience under their belt could help out :)

Deep water Culture
lights- 2-400watt metal halide
room temp 70F
water temp 68F
week 3 veg
advanced nutrients grow, micro, bloom
ph 5.6-6.0
ppm 350
tap water ph'd to 5.6, ppm is about 170ppm with no nutes added and i let it sit in a large rain bucket with air stones over night to evaporate chlorine.

haha your poll is pretty odd.

but yea your right, any small speckled spots of death are usually cal/mag/zn, could be a slight nitrogen defiency as well, or phosphorus lockout going on too
what do the roots look like? have you lifted on up? are the roots bright white? if they are not, then theres your issue.

As for the poll it's different questions when it should be different options to fix your plants.
I not getting a good look at the whole plant but I'm thinking the ppm is on the low side
I thinking you could safely up it to 600-800 ppms have you ever use this chart Advance Nutes
has if you do try the light feeding schedule for flowering for veg it says you should have your
ppm at 1100 ppm 3rd week of veg this to me does sound high but I sure 800 ppm would
help perk up plants they look healthy but hungry~

Your stems are getting a lil brwonish/purple this only happens when NPK and Mg issues are present. Your plant must be a tad hungry overall, so maybe up it to 500 ppm? Anyways do it step by step coz AN nutes are not nearly forgiving and like to burn plants.

no it does not. every last one of my concorde plants fan leaf stems turn red, and are healthy as can be. i dont see a single thing wrong with the plant. only thing a lil concerning was the raised ridges on your new growth. but could just be how the leaves start out. alot of times though it is a Zn. problem. just keep an eye on it. but all in all everything looks great!

That's your concorde mate, some strains might show purple stems as an unique treat and I think that's during the flowering stage, nevertheless the OP said "My stems have been turning purple, new growth has slowed or stopped and is growing tiny and spindly looking. I'm also starting to see small brown spots on some of the leaves but not all of them. possibly calcium, mag, zinc deficiency?"

Does it sound like a strain treat to you? I wouldn't put my money on it.

regardless maps that is not always the case...and i have been vegging a single plant scrog for over 2 mo. now. and her fan leaves are always like that...i dont see anything wrong with those plant pics. except what i mentioned. i guess you could up the feed a lil bit, but whats the strain? and i guess how long have they been vegging for? would be the right questions.

Well in any case. You leaves are showing environmental damage as well, see how the leaves bend and curl? 800W of MH is quite a lot of light. How far away are the lamps from the plant?.

Maybe you're a bad grower and settle for whatever the plant trows at you, who knows?, the thing is you don't hold the truth for having a "healthy" plant with red branches in your closet, that in theory and practice is not good. Also you're not offering any solution either just misleading the OP saying everything's fine.

I have a romulan that has a purple stem that's just the way they are its genetics.Ive grown them a few times and they all come out that way. if your plant is getting yellow leafs and brown spots it most likely is cal mag issues.

what are the room temps at nights can cause reddish to browning, make sure your room is 65 to 70 degrees at night time to cold at night can also cause nut lock, this has happen to me before i got my temps up flushed and started to feed at half the nuts and my plants are doing great now.

lol...my plants are grade A and so is my bud...believe whatever you want, its people like you that send new growers into a frenzy to fix something that was so insignificant to begin with, that it didnt matter, but now his crop is ruined...why? all because some guy at RIU made him believe there was a problem, but really there isnt.

Hey thank you for your help but it's not a case of the strain having purple stems, maps84 is right. I have grown strains where the stems have been purple such as blue god and it was very healthy. My plants have been stunted for close to a week now so i know there actually is a problem and they are not healthy.

The temps are always between 63-70 never higher and never lower. I'm going to take the advice and up the ppm to about 500 and see how they do. thanks so much for the help everyone

Ruin his crop for upping a tad the ppm's and adding a supplement? this talks lots of your expertise you know? not bragging about your buds. When did I say he had a severe case of something? Are you high or reading another thread? Anyways man, you're flaming more than offering help, you do have the right to your opinion, but not to impose it, it's rude, unpolite and says a lot about the type of egotistic asshole you are.
