I experienced massive PH shifts in DWC myself, using tap water. I switched to RO and the PH shift slowed drasticly. Now I use 1/2 RO and 1/2 tap water, since i was getting deficiencies using pure RO (Even though i added cal-mag for 200ppm water). It helps to aerate the tap water about 24 hours before mixing it with the RO water. If you don't want to get a RO filter, I would suggest buying some RO water from your local mega store, they usually have 5gal drums of RO you can buy. Hope this helps!
