PH flux. Need help stabalizing.....

Greetings all.

I'm having trouble keeping my PH at all stable. Every morning, I bring the PH in my system down to 5.5, and when I test it at night, it has drifted up to 6.0-6.1. Left unchecked, the ph drifts upwards even higher into the 6.5-7.1 range.

System in a nutshell is a GH waterfarm with four pods. PPM is 740-800,EC 1.0-1.2. Medium is hydroton aerated clay, Clones came in 1' rockwool. All water is 0ppm RO. PPM/EC and PH readings are all digital.

Stain(if it matters) is %100 indica(purple urkle).

How do I more proactively manage the PH in my system?

There seems to be a discussion as to the optimal PH for hydroponics. Most people seem to think 5.2-5.8 is optimal. What does everyone here think?

You didn't say what nutes you are using, but I assume GH.

The pH will drift up and down, and you don't need to correct until it's out of range. The range is low 5's to low 6's. Try mixing in some alkaline tapwater with your RO, that may help to stabilize your pH.

You could also mix your soup and let it sit for a day, then adjust pH and use.

Thanks for the input guys,

I'm using AN nutrients, and AN PH up/Ph down. My system seems to 'want' to rest at 6.1 I've been reading that 5.5-5.8 is optimal. If it's hanging out at 6.1, should I just leave it, or should I adjust to 5.5, and allow it to fluctuate between 5.5-6.1?
