pH difference in and out of reservoir

When I test the water pH in the reservoir I get almost a complete point difference than if I scoop out a cup worth and test that sample. Does the air pump change anything during testing? Which number should I rely on? I also noticed that there is a big shift when my hand is in the reservoir verse when its not. Oh God!... I just want my babies happy!!

If you touch the water and then test it will always give you a high reading... Always wash your hands before touching any res water. Have you taken all the water out completely flushed all the plants and started from scratch with freash water,nutes etc ?

ph changes based on temp, if you have a small res your hand might be enough to change that.
things in the water that aren't water change ph too, like the dirt and grease on your hand, and the dust and plastic in the cup you use to scoop it out.

Agreed... So have you tried doing the whole flush thing and starting again ?
