pH Adjustments

Do you have a PH test kit? If you read the instructions on it, it probably suggests to use "PH Down" to lower the PH, and "PH Up" to raise it....

An alternative to lowering it, is lemon juice, or apparently vinegar.

How do I lower my pH levels in a 18 gallon tote?
ph down is like 5 bucks.....i put 15 ml in my tank thats a 36 gallon but i only put 10 gallons of water in. my ph starts at 8 and 15 ml of ph down drops it to 5.8 ish wich is perfect and i dont correct down until it goes up to 6.3 or above then 5 ml of ph down gets it right again.:hump:

Will nuets bring down the pH? I will be using Canna Aqua Veg A+B and Rhizotonic for the veg stage of growth.
maybe, but thats not a real solution to your problem, as has been said, ph down is like 5 bucks, and you can get test strips for 10. this is pretty much required for a grower, as i have learned the hard way. You dont want your plants to look like this.

Bugs,

Who makes your pH down? I have the same size res, and it takes me over twice that amount for that kind of pH drop.

I use GH 3 part flora, and the nutes do drop my res pH.

Good luck with your grow.

if it has ph buggers in it it sure will.

now canna make nothing but good shit and is known for their buffers so you should be in good shape, but i'm not 100% on that.

Yes Canna Aqua A+B have pH buffers and it brings the pH down, i use Canna Aqua Veg/Flores A+B and i hardly use any pH down. My tap water is around pH7.0, when i finish adding my nute (at full strength) my pH is around ph5.8 to pH6, if it stays over 6 i bring it down to around pH5.7 and it hardy every budges, if it goes below 5.7 i just add more tap water to bring it up a bit. My nutes solution is 200 litres and last the full 2 weeks.

Thanks fitzyno1 it is good to know that there are others that use Canna. Have you used the Rhizotonic or any of the other supplements by Canna before? What do you use to bring down your pH?

Well, we're using the same nutes and pH adjusting supplies. I wonder why I'm using so much. Do you think your water buffers better than mine? Maybe my res has got some hidden gunk in it raising the pH.

Maybe I'm a little slow... what are you saying?
LOL! Sorry, I think I may have jacked your thread.

bugsrnme needs a lot less pH down to lower his rez pH than I do. I was trying to figure out why. I've read that the type of water or nutes you use can affect how stable your pH is. In addtion, any type of root rot or other nastiness in the system can affect pH. After re-reading bugsrnme's post, and looking at my mix notes I don't think we are as different as I first thought.

My question was related to pH adjustment, I just should have started my own thread.

+ rep for jacking your thread.

Sorry.
