Pesky ants

I have ants trying to eat my stem of one of my MJ plants.. there stripping the bark so that all that is left is the inner skin and the plant is forced to make a scab to try and combat these pesky bastards. I used molasses and fish emulsion a few times so im sure thats what started this whole situation but if that is the case then why are they trying to hack up my plant? do they smell or taste the sugar in the sap of the stem ?


Will they cause much damage to the plant or will they give up eventually?




ps: its funny how they get stuck in the resin and trichomes lol...but a bitch to remove them later so I can smoke her buds later lol....aaarrrrg
