Personal closet grow in New England

What's up!?

Nice to meet you. I'm a medical patient in New England and I've got my third grow going. It's just for my wife and I to have some meds we don't have to pay for. Currently it doesn't provide enough love for us so I'll likely be doubling it soon. This is my second grow in this tent and it's getting real stuffed. I've got 5 plants for the time being and we're just about to get to the fun part, flowering! I'm using a 2x2 dr60 secret jardin tent, 150 cfm of ventilation, 150w hps sunsystem and a 4 bulb t5.

2 Raskal og fem. in 5 gallon pots
2 northern lights #5 x skunk #1 reg. in one gallon pots with the bottoms cut out and set in other one gallon pots. (I needed the space!)
1 Dream Lotus in a 5 gallon pot maybe a male

I planted a few seeds every couple weeks starting back in late November. The oldest are the Raskal and they are about 1.5 ft. The nlxskunk are the youngest and just reaching 10 inches now. I'll be flowering them shortly and expect at least 1-2 males.

I'd really like to grab a 2x4 tent for my next grow and perhaps keep a Raskal mother in this little tent. It's been a great plant to grow. It already stinks like crazy in veg.

I'd love opinions and advice since I'm pretty fresh!

They look healthy.. It's definitely nice to have a couple/few different spaces so you can veg and bloom at same time.. I assume you have a filter ready for flowering so that will help with that smell.. Good luck!

Thanks blowincherrypie for weighing in! I don't have a filter as I'm legal and rather remote. I work from home and no one really comes over but family and close friends...most of which don't smoke and don't care. I probably need one though for the random landlord visit. Currently I fry up bacon. Ha. I'm worried the loss in cfm will make my heat rise and I'm being frugal...don't want to buy a bigger fan.

Just my humble oppie but I think u may have too much material in one tent.
Thought about a pruning method? Me? I'd LST the crap outta them.

I would get a veg chamber/clone chamber before you upgrade the flower space. Or use the 2x2 to veg in/clone in. With smaller spaces it is ideal to have a perpetual grow going on. Should be able to get at least 3 ounces 1 go, then when you are ready to harvest you would have big plants ready to throw in there.

It's actually for both of us. I had a kidney transplant 8 years ago and my anti rejection meds are shit on my body.

Thanks for all the input! Ya it's so crowded! The leaves are all up on the walls. My last grow had so many males I ended with only one girl so I went nuts this time. I'm pretty sure there are 2 males ready to show me their crab claws so it should get freed up. I'm planning on getting a second tent. Maybe a 3x3 or a 2x4 and vegging in my 2x2. Another thought I've been kicking around is to keep a mom and an auto flower in the small tent and start a larger tent for clone to flower. I'd love advice. I would like to be getting about 3.5 - 4 ounces a month.

With two tents i would forego having a mom. Just keep the clones comming. Or try new strains. Moms are a lot of maintenance. I don't grow autos for many reasons but ppl like em so who am i to judge?

Cool thx for that. I'm real into low maintenance girls so I'll def take your advice to heart and not expect to keep a mom around. I've never grown an auto, but this black cream I'm smoking has me thinking about buying some. Srs I love it and I have a fairly high tolerance. I'm not as obsessed with potency as some though. Smell and smoke can win me over. I have a bunch of seed to grow thru that a friend gave me so I guess I shouldn't even worry about cloning for a bit.

Y'all made me realize how cluttered my growbag was so I Cut down my dream lotus male. I was sad to see that one turn out male. I keep my fluorescent light lower than this but you can't see the plants that way.

Anyone else's cat go ape on your plants if left unattended? Mine gets feral around the stuff. You can see the damage where she tried to eat the entire dream lotus before I caught her! Nut. Here's what we look like now and the male I chopped below. Anyone grown Raskal? Should I flower soon? Will it triple I'm size?

some cats just love MJ....looks like yours does as well

good idea to keep all pets away from the grow room as they can carry mites or other undesirable bugs and/or eat your plants

maybe consider letting the cats have their way with the male plant

Ha ya that's the face. Ears back and wild. I try not to let her in our bedroom when I open the closet. I'd hate to get mites. She was eating the male when I brought him downstairs for death. I read that it might not be good for her though, so I took it away. if she ever sneaks in my tent through one of the vents or something I'll only have twigs left!

looks good. my only advise would be to plant them all at the same time rather than stagger. with just one tent you will constantly be battling height issues with different aged plants. also older ones will be ready to flower sooner. 4 plants may be pushing the limits of a 2x2 tent also. but the plants look great. have fun

Your tent is gonna be stuffed full in about a month, but looking healthy and happy for now.

Hey guys thanks! Ya I'm noticing I have one more skunk x nl male to cull. Looks like I'll have 3 in the tent, but even my 2 raskals alone are a bit wide already. They almost always touch leaves somewhere.

Yesterday I thinned out some of the lower branches that were definitely stunted from lack of light. I'm thinking of flipping to 12/12 in about a week. The smallest plans have already shown their sex.

They are growing plenty fast. I've been giving them a seaweed foliar spray and adding some to the water as well with a calcium supplement. I've also been using Gaia Mania, but I've been using it sparingly since I saw a video where they described how they liquefy chicken livers and other less gross stuff to make it. Now the smell alone makes me grossed out. Ha. I guess I never thought about how they make feather or bone meal.

Next grow I definitely need a bigger space.

Two suggestions:

1. You know any clothes you leave in that closet are going to stink to high heaven?

2. Why not get rid of the grow tent? Closet doors are cheap, you could modify your existing door and replace it later if you must. Turn the entire closet into a grow closet.

And maybe some fem. seeds.. Hang in there.

I don't own the house and there's no existing door. You should see us get creative if someone ever comes over. Also I don't know how to stop the feedback loop of lamp heat if I put a door on it other than having a real obvious air vent. The dryer vent runs thru that closet but then the dryer air would probably vent thru my inline. I've tried just using a curtain but it gets 82+ degrees quick and keeps rising. It's not near any window.

Oops, I'll definitely move those clothes. I fear the damage is done. Haha. Oh well, we often smell of bongrips anyway.

Yeaaaah, I'm all on fem seeds after this. I'm just using what I have. The raskals were feminized.
