Perpetual Short Bus: A Crop Circle Story

Took a few shots of the inside of my new flower house, which I am loving. It's big as hell! Also got the light mover at work. I'm real confident in this set-up, it's looking like smooth sailing.

Hey Bus, I'm glad I found your thread! Your set-up and plants look great. Our guru taught you well.

Def sub'ed!

You've got lots of great strains going on at once. Guess everything is bigger and better in Cali.lol!

BTW great pics coupled with clear explanatory text.

Since we were talking about all steps I use to veg, I figured a little guided tour was in order. My veg chamber is a freestanding 3x3 structure with 2 stories and a loft. On the ground floor, we have moms and phase 2 plants in party cups under flourescent lights.

The top floor is for phase 3 plants and vegging buckets. I finally found 32 oz containers in the Tupperware aisle at K-Mart, they're working like a charm so far. Upstairs is lit with a 250w HPS.

Besides the 2 floors, I have my clones on a small shelf above the light in the upstairs. Hard to photograph, but that's where my clones live until they get legs. And there you have it.

Thanks mang. It's really cool to think someone's doing something beneficial in a whole other state cuz they saw my posts, especially since that's how I learned all this shit in the first place too. BTW, I finally got my tomato cages. Flower pics tomorrow.

Just a little check-in with my girls in flower.

OG Kush, day 54

Jack the Ripper and Sour Grape sharing a bucket, day 53

OG Kush, day 39. This thing is a monster!

And Super Skunk, day 32

Sorry about the HPS pics, usually I take em out and get better shots but these were taken at the end of a long day.

I took these yesterday, 24 hours after the last round of exploding root shots I posted. This is the SAME PLANT A DAY LATER.

Oh yeah!

The one in the picture above got thrown into flower right after I trained it. Nowadays I give em about 2 weeks of veg after training to get the uprights developed.

So I fired up a new experiment yesterday. I'm expanding my clone production to help some local folks out, and to produce more clones, you need a big-ass mom plant. I keep moms anyway, but up to now they only had to provide me with 16-20 clones every 2 weeks so they didn't take much care or effort. To meet my new goal of 50-60 clones I decided to dip my toes into the DWC bucket. My plan here is to grow a DWC plant or 2 and train them as crop circles. This should give me about a dozen smallish clone producing uprights in no time. If this goes well, I may look at running all my CCs in DWC, as the cost of dirt is getting ridiculous. I got a bubbler bucket set up last night and dropped a rooted Super Skunk clone in there, we'll see how it goes. :joint:

Can't wait to see how the DWC experiment goes Bus! That OG, JTR & Sour should be finishing up about now, que no? How's about some chop pics? Dyin to hear the yield too.

On another note, I got completely engrossed in this thread yesterday, didn't get to bed until 4:30am, but it was a good time. I know Hobbes is completely against it, but there were a few folks who did side-by-sides and other experiments, and the results were pretty interesting. I kept thinking about the kind of results you might get if you added the tech to the CCoB and air pots, could be a game changer. Have a look and let me know if it interests you. (BTW, I've read up on this a few times, and I'm pretty familiar with both sides of the coin, but the pics are what are making me reconsider...)

Defoliation : Hi-Yield technique

Be cool brother.

edit : if you just want to leaf through the thread, some of the experimenters to look for are jrosek (he seems to be the guy that started it all at IC), Delta9nxs, k33ftr33s, superusa, Nyness, bs0 and Lifeless (he documented his really well) and a couple others. Also, you don't need to be registered to see most pics. ;)

That's been an interesting read so far. I've had better results from partial pruning than not, really. In my experience, shaded bud stays larfy and lit bud turns into smoke. Hmmm...

Yeah, I don't think I can even imagine stripping plants so severely, the way some of them dudes do, but they are reporting increased yields, so I don't know...Most of em seem like reasonably intelligent posters with no reason to embellish either, so their case seems to be a strong one. I think selective pruning is a good compromise, and glad to hear you've had good results.

Now where dem harvest pics!? bongsmilie

I blame Photobucket, it literally took 3 days to get into my account, upload these damn pics, access my album and (hopefully) post these bitches. Jeez! Anyway, here's the harvest, for Saladman, usually I just put these in my harvest journal.

Here's the Jack side of the first bucket.

Jack the Ripper owns. Period. Here's the Sour Grape side, also great smoke.

Purty, ain't she? OG Kush.

I'm not cloning any more OG, I'm not a fan. Maybe there's good OG Kush out there, but not the pheno I have. I'm pretty sure Cali growers use shitty phenos to clone for the clubs about half the time. I've had good rounds, but once in a while you pick up some legendary strain, grow it, clone it, grow it again, flower it for 2 months, dry it, cure it, light it up and say, "What the fuck's so special about this shit?" That's this weed. Leafy as hell, tastes like ass after 2 weeks in cure. I've never grown shitty tasting weed before, flavor's a serious point for me, so I gotta blame the genetics. If anybody's grown good OG Kush, feel free to post a pic here, I'd like to compare the phenotypes. Anyway, total yield about 3.5 oz, all solid buds. I was hoping for a little more, but these had no post-training veg and the plants since these have shown this to be important, so there's the reinforcement. Following the right steps in veg is crucial to the CCOB tactic, wish I'd figured that out sooner.
