OK... so I see the Permalink link on posts on threads... but I don't get what it does or how to use it.

I did search on the subject but didn't come up with anything.

I've also tried clicking on it in a few threads just to see what happens.... NOTHING???

Can someone please explain it to me what it is / does? Equally important... how to use it.

Thanks :D

Oh no, please tell me you didn't click on it!

That is a feature for you, if you want to reference that particular post.

When you are viewing a post, the URL in your browser address line is the URL for the thread. If you want to refer someone to a particular post, then click the permalink in that post, and the address in your browser is changed to the one for that specific post.

Sorry, I've never been able to relate to children. :blsmoke:

OK... so if I understand it correctly.... If I want to reference a particular post I click on Permalink.... it changes the window to just show that post and the browser address bar changes to reflect that the address of just that post (not the whole thread) so I can copy the address and paste it as a link in another post. That makes sense... I get it now.

For some reason I thought it was suppose to act as a bookmark of some sort so I could mark where I left off reading. LOL.. obviously I had it completely wrong.

Thanks for the explanation.... it did help
:D
