pennsylvania medical marijuana

I have such a passion for the cultivation and use of marijuana. Whats the movement lookimg like currently in everyone's opinion

Penn? Never gonna happen. Too many right wingers.... I do believe you'll be able to buy 50cal machine guns at convenient stores very soon though so you have that to look forward to.

We have bills proposing medijuana, but the actual probability of them passing is minimal.
As stated above, too many right wingers and older conservatives in our states gov't for it to pass in the near future.

Though when has the legality of cannabis ever stopped us "heathens" from growing/smoking the sweet sticky ganja?

When the states with legalized weed start taxing it, and Penn sees the huge revenue dollars, things will change fast. Even the old neoCons can't deny a boatload of jack. That's ur only chance.

Never say never, in Philly weed is decriminalized, up to an ounce I think is only a misdemeanor. Now decriminalization in itself makes absolutely no sense and this could just be a case of the city's high crime rate and letting the city police focus on real problems, but still its saying something.

You are absolutely right they are conservative and slow to change but the state desperately needs funds and once they see other states profiting theyll want in to.

Not to mention medical marijuana laws have been bouncing around the legislator that may pass, time will fix it if nothing else.

It's not going to happen anytime soon, at least not with Corbett in office. He's gone on record stating he will veto any MMJ bill that hits his desk.

The most traction we have in the Senate is Bill 528 introduced in April of this year by Senator Leach. The majority Chairman, Senator McIlhinney, is responsible for deciding to vote on or hold hearings for SB 528, whether he will or not is somewhat of a question.

Now if we elect John Hanger for 2014, we do stand a chance. Personally, I like Corbett, however Hanger does fully support MMJ.

I agree. Corbett needs to go. I was reading an article a few weeks ago and he was rated the worst governor in the country. Not sure of the criteria they used, I'd have to re-read it. But if you are a registered Democrat, get out and vote Hanger in the May primary. Here is a newer article.

I've met quite a few folks over the years, almost all 40+, with conditions ranging from insomnia to cancer who were able to significantly lower their doses and in some cases get off the prescription pharmaceuticals all together. It truly is a crime to deprive them of something that makes conditions like cancer and MS just that much more bearable. I know of some people who are already on borrowed time and would no question die in jail if they were arrested for a marijuana offense. Even the most die hard anti-mmj critics have to admit there is something there. People just don't decide one day to flush their oxycontin down the toilet for the fun of it. I had to trim down who gets my excess to just one person because of what would happen to me if I would get popped with enough to keep myself and everyone else in need afloat. Try breaking the news one day to a guy in a wheelchair that he has to go back to buying his herb the way he did before. From inconsistant assholes selling hamburger for the price of steak. It isn't a fun conversation to have.

Hey SB1182 has an open hearing scheduled for the 28th of January. I've been calling every senator's office I can get my hands on and explaining to them that mmj is the only thing helping me function in society without being a damn pharma-zombie. I know other vets like me really benefit not to mention countless others who would as well. Please help me by calling your district's senators and reminding them that those who vote no are not representing their voters and should/will be removed next election round. I ddon't know about y'all but I'm getting pissed that these "representatives" are not serving their purpose. Thank you and stay warm.

Corbett is the govenor, he doesnt make laws. sb528 sb770 are out there now. Let your local officails know that you want weed legal... We're already getting our paperwork in to start a Co-op.

Yes but he has already made it clear he will veto any such bill. I imagine any such bill would pass with a narrow margin to begin with, so I don't think we would have the votes needed to override asshole's veto.

The senate bill has been approved and the preliminary figures look like there will be enough voted to beat a veto from the governor.

Corbitt is gone and wolf is pro pot. Bring it on. What they need to realize is they already own the distribution centers(ie state owned wine and spirit stores). The state could take all the profits as well as the tax dollars.

So the bill passes the senate with overwhelming support and now one freaking law maker in central PA is halting it from coming up for a vote in the House. Everyone needs to write him a letter and let him now how much we as Pennsylvanians need this bill to pass. Band together everyone

Yea that is a possibility but im hoping for the best. I am a conservative in certain matters but this is just stupid prohibition. Lets start a petition of registered voters in Tioga County opposing him in the next election and see if that changes his mind.
