okay so im expecting a heated thread here. i am a HUGE pc guy i would never be caught on a mac.

i see it as a over priced pc wraped in a fancy little shell. im not that big on computer knowledge but i know my way around a computer. the reason im starting this because my manager at my job is a big mac guy and his biggest point is "i dont get viruses" i know its because the hackers that make a virus go for the bigger group which is PC (windows).and that his mac is so easy to use ppssshhhh ya if your a 12 year old girl and dont know how to use a computer. but i need some more ammo for this doushe.

can i hear what other advantages a PC has over a mac? even dissadvantages cause im expecting some mac guys to be saying something.

Just attack Apple as a company. That's easy.

Also, Macs do get viruses these days.

Macs use the same hardware PCs do, just at way higher cost

But really who cares fuck it, let the dude shit all his money away

Video gaming is also a good argument

Now its not even a question of os (Operating System)
You can put virtually any os on either kind of hardware. I prefer PC hardware just cause its cheaper. Plus no-one has ever used a mac case to grow in. lol

As has been said. The OS and Hardware are now two totally different arguments.

Hardware: well we all know how it goes, if you have a very low self esteem and whatnot, shiny white, shiny white, to hell with the internals shiny and white! A pc will outperform a mac of the same price every single time.

Software: If you're into multimedia, then apple does admitedly have some good stuff going, but for anything else, there is simply no reason to opt for apples OS over something so widely siupported and used like Windows.

For me, pc hardware every time, i think apples look shit tbh, and if i need to use apple, well i'll just load a copy of kalaway etc onto my pc as has been done in the past, and it'll work like a mac from the store.

I've got a Macbook pro and I love it, I've had my fair share of PC's and laptops over the years and I've got to say I like the Mac the best

Ya I had to buy a macbook pro for school. It's been two or more years and it still works just as good as when I bought it. I prefer them over a PC, had a couple and all they did was fuck up and slow down.

On my Ubuntu Linux laptop at work, at home I use my 6 year old iMac. Is it overpriced? Maybe? Lets see... in 7 years I have reinstalled the operating system 0 times, got 0 viruses, 0 blue screens, run spyware removers 0 times, never searched for drivers or any of that bullshit I did on my PC.... I just never do any "maintenance" and it still works flawlessly.

Would a 7 year old PC still work? Probably... but I think the ease of use is worth the price tag. I'm not computer illiterate by any means, but dealing with computer issues just isn't fun. I'm a mechanic, but if I could buy a car that never broke I would.

yeah macs are by-far more stable than PC's. I odn't give a fuck if anyone wants to argue that, this is just a fact for me, every time I"v eused the OS it's been way more stable.

hell I even ran it on my own PC and it was WAY the fuck more stable that windows . . . irony.

I have a variety of laptops which are from around 7-10 years old from my fathers company, each has XP installed with some tweaks courtesy of his folk, they're still on their original OS, no upgrades, work like a charm, as slow as they now start to seem.

The main reason for PC's "slowing down" is because of the amount of bad shit people have created, due to the popularity (as in the viruses and crap). Personally i know enough not to click on every window and box that i see, and i never pick up any malware or viruses. Most PC's i've repaired have been directly down to user error.

As to being more stable, hell, personal experinence, it's a subjective issue. Vista gave me some trouble when trying to get an X-fi to work correctly, but i have windows 7 across a bunch of computers, and not a single one of them has ever crashed or failed on me.

Exactly, if no one uses it for 7 to 10 years, why wouldn't it work just as it had?

Exactly, the internet is full of bad stuff that doesn't seem to have any effect on Macs. Sure, you can play it safe and avoid these things... but that's saying "Fuck sidewalks, if you are real careful and pay good attention, you can walk down the middle of most streets!"
