Patch's 1000 watt Critical Kush grow

Hello RIU! Its been awhile since my last post. If you have ever followed or seen one of my journals then you know that I was all about the LED life. I tried vipar, Mars II, black dog, and grow blu in that period of time each having its own unique harvest. The main reason for that being that I was growing in my bedroom, and did not have access to an attic or any other place to evacuate the hot air. (no way in hell I was going to use my window that goes out to the porch!) Now it just so happens that my roommate moved out! and rather than move someone in just to lower the bills I am just going to use that spare room to grow. I am starting out small at first then might get up to an 8x8 space. We will start with 5x5.

Setup -

1x1000 watt Hortilux HPS in an air cooled hood
4xCritical Kush clones
1x8 inch Hurricane fan
1x6 inch Hurricane fan
1x8 inch Carbon Filter

I use the 8 inch fan attached to the carbon filter to exhaust all of the air from my tent into the attic. The 6 inch fan is ducted to the air cooled hood, drawing fresh cold air conditioned air from the bedroom, pulling over the bulb and also exhausted into the attic. The setup keeps the room about 70-75 degrees F at all times.(it gets up to about 95 here on a hot day)With the humidity averaging around 60% this time of year.

The tent is 5x5.

I am using a table setup, that lays a sheet of moving water about 2 inches high for the roots to grow in. I have a 20 gallon reservoir sitting underneath a table made out of multiple sheets of styrofoam (insulation) that pumps water into a bunch of PVC pipe with tiny holes drilled into it that shoots onto the table, which then flows to a drain hole and falls back into the res. Easy. Simple. Works great.

I will be using GH 3 part series, with AN additives and a little bit of voodoo juice for bennies.

Water temperature will stay chilled at 68 degrees F. I plan on doing a little training once they get bigger, probably not much just breaking a few branches :)

This post is from my computer I will put up pictures in an hour or so once I get them on my phone. Feel free to SUB up, and of course I share the love so I will always check out your grow and lend a helping hand whenever I can.

yeah long as you give them the veg time you know that strain well now so you no the stretch and its limit with food so should be easy remember if a noob can get 0.5 gpw then you should kill it

also, I'm noticing a slight curve down on some of the leaves. the tips are curled down and slightly white maybe yellow? can't tell under this HPS.

started off my last change at 650 PPM and 5.6 PH

(CYCO XL calls for 5.5-5.6 and made my plants explode with growth in just 2 days, the shit is unreal)

today my PH was 5.8 and 480

it's drinking water and nutes.....acting like they are hungry but I always associated curling down tips with nitrogen TOXICITY

maybe someone can clear this up?

alright guys so we are running to a problem here. my room is about 70 percent humidity and I don't know what else to do to get it down...

I put a 50 pint de humidifier in the bedroom that the tent is in and like 5 packs of DampRid all through out the tent. it still is staying at 70 percent humidity. i am pulling so much air from the room through my air cooled hood and my 8 inch exhaust that nothing can keep up with it

it's pretty muggy outside where I live about 65 percent humidity outside.

what else can I do to fix this problem?

here's a little daily update I pruned a few branches on them last night

I was thinking about routing the air cooled hood to draw air from the attic, then blow it over the bulb back up into the attic. then turning off the exhaust system completely.
I would put an AC in the room to lower humidity and to cool down the room.

I would rig up a co2 setup, closing off the tent and run my exhaust fan for 10 mins every hour.

the room that the tent is in would be completely sealed from he rest of the house I would close everything up that I can.

so in theory I would be running higher temps in the mid-high 80s but would be running co2. the air conditioner and dehumidifier running in a closed off space would drop the humidity to what I want 40%, and keep the air outside the tent cold so temps would be brought down to 70s inside the grow tent once the exhaust fan kicks on and brings air in from the room.

NIce man!! I love your build! You're going to get at the very least a pound from that! I like you're idea of just growing instead of getting another room mate! Freakin genius!!! That grow room will produce way more than your roommate ever will and you don't have to deal with some stranger living with you and sharing all your differences and what not. LoL! Goo luck man! Is this a DWC Build? Or an Aeroponics?

Ha thanks! Just like you said, it is so much better than a roomie and puts a lot more money in my pocket than one would haha

Its like an aeroponics setup kinda, theres a big sheet of styrofoam that the roots dangle onto and grow all over. The water pumps from the res and onto the table with PVC pipe that has tiny holes drilled it in. Water just squirts everywhere in there lol. That table gets a sheet of water laid on it that falls back into the reservoir and gets pumped back up to the table etc etc.

Top stuff Patch, that's a nice setup you got going :-D

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the high humidity during veg, it's during late flower you have to worry about mould etc. Your girls are looking healthy and sticking upright which tells me they are happy with the conditions, just keep an eye on them and they should be sweet! How good are the Cyco nutes? I used them for a few grows and now only use the Dr repair, Swell, potash and B1 Boost, oh and the XL.

Humidity is down to 64% now that I have everything in there and closed off as much as I can, Today is day 4 of flower when do you think would be the best time to switch over to a 1-1-1 or a 3-2-1 BLOOM formula?
