Just me flying high on some tasty Northern Berry while recording a play-along jam for my homies over at Club 600.
Blazed many bowls (once for each take) so was feelin' fine, and made some mistakes here & there, but had fun playing it!

Such a cool song!
And they do it so well!
I was lucky enough to finally see them live last June.
Was about 4 meters from the front of Stage Right, and had a a couple of "moments" with with Alex when he noticed me standing still most of the concert with my arms (seemingly) crossed over my chest.
The reality was that I have a major back injury and was in agony and was using my arms like that to help hold up my torso.
I refused to sit down or leave for anything, I just wasn't very mobile and, quite frankly, not only being at a Rush concert for the first time, but being THAT close to Alex for most of the concert had me blown away and a little dumbfounded.
So Alex sees me standing there like I was and squints out past the lights as he steps right up to the edge of the stage and points at me, smiles and yells "Come on! Let me see your fist!" then skips across the stage over to Geddy to play the rest of the song while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
The next song is YYZ, and they are KILLING it!
Alex is right up to the edge of the stage in front of me again as he does his solo and he played so amazing!
Then right after the solo he and Geddy change places and now GEDDY is right up to the edge of the stage as he does a 6-minute solo while the other two back him.
He finishes his solo and trades places back with Alex who comes up to the edge of the stage, leans all the way out while squinting past the lights to look me in the eyes AGAIN!
He yells out "Show me a fist! Get it up in the air!"
I instantly punch the sky and pund away as he plays his part in YYZ.
Huge smile on his face when he sees my fist and yells out "Come on! Let's see both of them up there!"
And threw my left fist up with my right fist and pound the crap out of the air as he smiled big and shot across the stage to join Geddy as they finished up the last 30 seconds of the song.
Freakin' awesome night, and an amazing concert!

Sounds mindblowing. I can't count the number of times in my youth I rocked out to Subdivisions or the Temples of Syrinx, or one of my main ones a Passage to Bangkok. I had an opportunity to see Rush in Edmonton when they were touring for Snakes and Arrows. Decided to go to Calgary and see Pearl Jam instead. Very stupid decision in restrospect. Hadn't even seen Pearl Jam before I got arrested for smoking herb and thrown out of the concert, and looking at the two objectively now Rush is the better band by far. Still listen to those fucks. Not so for Pearl Jam. Bonus points for being a Canadian band as well. Unlike most bands that play into their fifties and sixties, they still release good music and can play well live too.

Something gets me about 300 000 people raising their fists and shouting a good "hey" everytime the band plays that one riff. I'm figuring by club 600 you mean the 600 watt club on riu? The only other one i came across was a satanist cult thing.

*Disclaimer: I drank many beers before this post

Yeah, Club 600: the Herbalists, not the Satanists :-)

2112 is one of my top 5 to play along to.
When youtube allows for longer uploads I plan on doing a bass cover of that one.
They limit me to 15 minutes run time for vids and I don't want to do a "part 1" "part 2" thing.... :-(
One of these days I know they will.
:-)
And Canada has some great musicians!
My mom is from the Wetaskawin area, but that was back in the 1920's through 1950's before she moved to Alaska and got married.
Love visiting relatives there. :-)

I've had a vendetta against the province of alberta for a long time. Since getting arrested there at a pearl jam concert.

Yet now I live there? What the fuck?
