Get the 6" 240 cfm. All you will need. Make sure you have plenty of space and support for this fan. It almost weighs 20 pounds and is shaped like a rectangular box.

Those Panasonic fans are bad ass!! They make no noise and run forever!! I have never seen them used outside the bathroom and other house areas, but it's a quality fan for sure. Good luck

no carbon filter for me , just need to cool a light , have you checked out the specks on the fan it may not be able to work under a back pressure situation like pushing air through a carbon filter

What is the link to your fan Purple? I use the one that Robert posted. It's big and bulky like that.

I also see that Robert posted a pic of the TD fan. I have used almost every inline fan out there. The Panasonic is the most quiet with the TD fans coming in second. The TD fans are a bit stronger over longer runs while the Panasonic was made for short runs and to be quiet.

BOTH fans can be used with can filters but the TD fans are better for this. I run a TD-150 at LOW speed pulling thru a Can-filter 9000 and pushing thru a Can-filter 33. They are quite powerful fans.

My Whisper-quiet 6" 240 cfm cools my 600 watt in a nice short run. I use a 6' piece of insulated duct that is run from my ceiling to the reflector and you can hardly hear anything at all.

+rep for the useful info HW thank you
Thanks, glad I could help :-o

I think Purple is going to use the regular Panasonic bathroom ceiling fan instead of the inline fan. I'm pretty sure he can make that work if he does it the right way. As long as he doesn't hook it up to a Can-filter and just pull air he should be ok.

that's what i was thinking the other type fans are squirrel cage not meant to work under back pressure,or restricted air flow
