Grassroots Activists Head to the Nation’s Capital to End Prohibition:clap:
Millions to Gather in Hopes to Cease Lies and Propaganda in the Cannabis World!:bigjoint:

Denver, CO (January 20, 2010) Overgrow The Government, a group of grassroots activists, is calling on a million supporters, hemp farmers and protesters alike to join together for a protest march in Washington D.C. to demand an end to cannabis prohibition. The march will take place on 4-20-11. We will meet at 10AM at the Washington Monument and the march will go to Lafayette Park! At the park we will be right across from the White House talking loud enough for Mr. Obama to hear us! Prepare for a day of speakers and fun, but most importantly CHANGE!

Overgrow The Government is a group of grassroots activists that are tired of the lies and propaganda associated with cannabis prohibition and have taken a firm stand against it. The success of the event depends on everyone in the cannabis world coming together in D.C to demand an end to prohibition and continue to do so in the years to come until a change is made.

The unofficial organization was started when grassroots activist, Jason, viewed a protest at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) headquarters in which hemp farmers planted hemp seeds. “To me this was a metaphor for what I see that needs to happen; I knew that with science, medicine, and numbers on our side now is the time to change these laws, “said Mr. Warf. Following the protest, Jason took his idea and posted it as an event on Facebook to see what kind of feedback he would get. Within the first week, the protest received an overwhelming response from various organizations which proved he had to turn his idea into reality. He took on small group of activists as board members and started planning the event in the nation’s capital.

Man, I feel lame now. I had been preaching to my group for a medical to medical state march, ending in washington DC, this summer or maybe the next. I feel like the guy watching the first zombie and going "omg, its finally happening! I am gonna kill that first zombie and save the world!" as he watches some other guy run in first. Well someone needs to be a hero. Now how am I gonna make it to dc?

nguht, that is one of the reasons cannabis has been illegal so long, everyone just wants to sit around smoke and not do anything for change. Everyone wants to stay in their nice little closets hiding from everyone. The more of us that get out and show that we DEMAND LEGALIZATION the more likely we are to get it. It may take several years, but the more people we can get each year the faster legalization will come on the FEDERAL level. One of the reasons why it is faster and easier on the state level is because it is easier for the states to see lots of people that are demanding changes because it is much easier for people to get there to show that they demand change. But it is at the FEDERAL LEVEL THAT THE CHANGE NEEDS TO COME FROM!!!! What good is it if a state legalizes it when the Feds just drop in and flex their muscle and arrest anyone they want???

Jankedyjoe, I am not sure where you live but on the Overgrow the govt web site or the FB site it has listings for car pools from several states. Depending on where you live there are lots of opportunities for you to get to DC cheaply.... If you live like in NYC you can take MEGABUS for around $8.00. Amtrak has rates that are cheaper then grayhound or flying. There are also some great flight prices out there, IF you live in the right area. Where I am from, it would be 300 to fly, Megabus can't get me there. Grayhound would be 200, but Amtrak is $68.00 for a round trip, so I am going to be taking my very first train ride!!!! I will have to get there 5 days early, but the person that is going with me as my care giver wants to do some sight seeing so that is good anyway. It is also spring break for my grandchild so we are thinking of taking her with us. (That solves two challenges, how on earth am I going to live without grandchild for that long, and who is going to watch her for spring break????) I still think she is just a little to young to be going as I don't want her exposed to second had smoke, and I want to ensure that there is not to much before I take her. Maybe in a couple of years, but I hope that it will be legal in a couple of years because of events like this!!!!!

Less then a month until the event and I am getting really stoked about it!!! See you there!

I think I'll see if my Hubby can take a personal day to watch the kids. Or if my oldest daughter will be off then, she can watch them, maybe. I'd be a little too worried about my 2 y.o. though, because my oldest doesn't watch closely enough. It only takes about 15 seconds for that liitle imp to wreak havoc!
