As long as you clean the glass it won't hurt your lumens at all, if anything help them out a little bit, Take a flashlight and turn it on and look at the light then turn it off and take the glass out and turn it on and look at it, its more focused with the glass in than out.

To be honest, I'm really thinking about posting a grow journal on here using the cfl fixture im building.
