First of all, +Rep to frmrboi from me too.

I hope I`m not hijacking this thread too much :)

I`m a grower in UK, Yorkshire area planning to grow a few plants outdoors. I have a few questions which will help the thread too. I`m planning on an autoflowering strain too.

1)The most important factor is success! Are Indica`s more hardy than Sativa`s for the UK conditions? (e.g mould&insects)

2)Is it worth getting feminised seeds to minimise the journeys to the site? Or would you say your gonna have to have to and have a look anyway so might aswell clip the males while your there?

3)Also what is the risks associated with Deer and other animals that may eat the crops? How are these risks minimised?

4)Most important question of all, do I have to grow indoors and move them outdoors? I would love to avoid this step, is it necessary? Does the necessity depend on the strain? Please get me clear on this part!

Fucking pissed off paying for a bag of weed from dodgy assholes ya`know.... More strain recommendations are welcome! +Rep for anybody who answers guys! Cheers!

Edit: The easiest option seems to be an autoflowering feminised lowryder, any comments?

Just thought I'd mention there is a guy here who grew this last year and was so happy with it he's buying 1000 seeds this year (even though it is clonable).

#1) Sativas take to long to flower to finish that far North
#2) I personaly don't like feminized seeds as I like to make my ownwith whatever I've bought. If you can get out to your plot every few days you should be able to cull your males out in time.
#3) the risks are huge, slugs with seedlings, rabbits for small plants and deer the worst. Fencing is the best option.
#4) No you can direct seed, most strains are light frost tolerant, with expensive strains it's highly recommended you start indoors to avoid slugs, mice, etc.
Britain has a more favourable climate than Ireland so you may have luck with non autoflowering strains. mold resistance and an early finish (Sept 15 at the latest) should be your first thing to look for in the description.

Yeah thanks for that, I`m feeling like ordering a pack of 5 Lowryder feminised seeds (I think so far). Pretty costly, wasn`t expecting prices like £40, but I`m keeping a bookmark for the list thanks!

So my biggest of all question is, how often will the outdoor plants need watering in the uk up north? (distance issues) I have grown indoors using outdoor light plenty of times but I have recently moved to UK and don`t really have a clue about the place. What would you guys claim the average number of visits to be to the growing area, speaking lowryder 8-9 weeks from seed to harvest. I know the watering depends on the weather but I`m just asking average or worst/best case scenario...

What if I was to get devious and buy a pack of 200 needles, stick plenty of them into a durable sheet of something e.g plexiglass and place them around each plant? That surely would stop rabbits and squirrels? Also using all of the other simple tactics I can find on the internet etc...

I can see rabbits and squirrels everywhere in UK pretty much, I like the idea of using a fence and I would be more than capable to do so but its just going to ruin the disguise part of things. Do you think planting 5 expensive seeds in one place is a wrong move? (taking into account herbivoers and people noticing)

I don`t really smoke too much these days so don`t want to end up with more than say 5oz or 10 absolute maximum. I would just smoke more than I should be =) Just bored of spending sooooo much money on something that should be cheap as fucking chips!!! Get the opportunity to beak a cake without boring a hole in my fucking wallet too!!

And I would be willing to set up an ultra small guerilla journal too! +Rep for the help guys!
