Outdoor Soil?

Less plants but bigger plants is the way to go. More manageable and slightly less risky. Soil is very important for quality bud. If you want bricks of ditch weed then go ahead with your 300 in non amended native soil. If you want dank then your going to need to amend your soil.

How many pounds are you Aiming for?
Are there animals there that will eat your plants , if so that's gona be a huge fence
I'm taking it down to about 100 plants I've decided. I want about 60-95 pounds. They will be inclosed but not by a huge fence.

Why not just amend with perlite and peatmoss a lil lime and worm castings .....then it will not cost as much and you can grow a lil more

fuck 100. go back to 300. keep them in SOG's under 4ft with three diffrent sections goin. Add organic bone, blood meal, and green sand along with the best soil you can find in your area (in michigan we can plant right into the ground) control the sunlight & you will get to your goal very easy!

300 might be a little too much to handle like everyone else was saying.

Ive known a lot of people, newbie growers, Having huge dreams, hundred plus plant operations, but by the end of the season they end up with almost nothing worth smoking. Inexperience is a big issue in a big grow like you are attempting. You gain your experience through small scale grows, once you learn the basics, have your method of growing down, then begin to go more large scale. I can see you wasting a lot of time and money and yeild very little. One guy mentioned 60-100 pounds, That will never happen, being a new grower. Your expectations are way to high, you should try aiming for at least one ounce per plant. But you wont even be able to do that without proper soil amendments. You should grow what normal people grow, and thats a few plants for personal smoke, not dream of a forest of weed plants that you can make money on, because it won't happen. And I assume you have animals in the area your growing, so you will need to purchase fencing, chicken wire fencing works good, and wrap it around each plant, To purchase that amount of chicken wire fencing, your looking at an easy minimum of several hundred dollars, not including any soil amendments, insecticides and fertilizers. To do, what you are trying to do properly, you would need a budget of thousands of dollars, thats the only way the plants would amount to any potential. Stay small, learn the basics.

I have 2 words for you: GET REAL! You're an inexperienced grower who wants to grow like the big boys who've been mastering their grow techniques for 20+ years? Sorry but it ain't gonna happen. You wanna grow that many plants you're going to have wander a least a few kilometers into the bush cause 300 plants will fucking stink! Try carrying 50L bags of soil, worm castings, animal poop, etc. through thick brush and forests all morning, you'll know what you've accomplished when you're done. Look at brwndirtwarrior or better said, look at his biceps. Where do you think all that muscle mass came from? It didn't come from years sitting around smoking weed and jerking off, it came from years of back-breaking manual labor.

You want to know what the big boys who've pulled off grow shows like that will tell you? Start small. Go, find a nice sunny place somewhere in the forest, either dig some holes or get some grow bags, fill with a high quality soil mix, start off with good genetics, and learn from your plants. I think even if you put 100 plants out there you wouldn't have much success. Quality cannabis needs love and attention. Imagine having 100 girlfriends. Sounds great until you realize you'd like to do more with your freetime than sit around and say "hello you beautiful lady, tell me how you feel today" to one lady after another. That or you can treat 'em like whores and say "here bitch, suck on this miracle grow fertilizer stick", but then you'll wind up with ditch weed. Go do some research and re-think your grow unless you want to be dissapointed.

Relax. I'm taking the number down. And what does it matter if it ends up being too much? The question wasn't "do you think 300 or 100 is too much?," The question was about the soil. Sorry if I'm coming off as rude, but you should be supportive instead of cutting my plans down. The same thing I would do for any fellow stoner. :peace:

Hey shoot high, whatever. I see alot of mold in your future though, possibly arthritis as well. Trimming anything over 10 pounds by yourself is going to be WORK. But if you really are looking to ammend some soil on the cheap. Look at the suggestions already given!

-Aged Horse Manure/ Cow Manure (Can be had for next to nothing, maybe closer to nothing if you have connections)
-Worm Castings (These will go a really long way in helping your clones or seedlings in their early stages)
- Perlite/Vermicultite(Self Explanatory)
- Coco( Cheap as hell, and a little goes a LONG way)
- Local Topsoils (Free! Just don't be digging up a farmers property or something stupid)
- Its March, get some Fucking Composting moving!

Hey don't take it personally but you need a little dose of reality. It's not that I wouldn't love to see you harvest 100 pounds of great quality weed, sell most of it, and go on a nice long vacation in Amsterdam, but it's just not gonna happen. If you want to amend the soil; worm castings and animal poop. Get a soil PH test kit. If the soil is too acidic, amend with dolomite lime. Another tip, dig a hole and fill it with water. If it drains too fast, add a little more perlite. If it drains very slowly you won't need as much perlite, instead you'll have to work a little harder loosening up the soil.

Your profile says Cali, but in post 17 you said Indiana. Having grown in Indiana for 20+ years i asked you what part of the state you were attempting to grow in as soil conditions vary in this state.

What brand of soil is best when using the osmocote? Or better yet, what brand of soil do you use with the cup of osmocote?
