Since the soil in the spot im growing this year has too much clay. I was thinking of digging holes and putting pots or grow bags into the ground. But how big should they be for maximum yield?

I'm tryna decide between 7- and 10 gallon nursery pots. The only reason I'd get 7 instead of 10 gallon is because I can get them at the local Agway and don't have to order them online.

Is there really any advantage to use a bag or pot if you are going to be digging the hole anyways?? Why not just dig the hole and fill it in with soil? Unless you might need to move it at some point.

Well I think theres an advantage because the roots of other plants will go into your plants good soil and take nutrients from it but if theres something blocking other roots from entering your plants soil your plant will have all the nutrients to itself and for easy transporting in emergencies
