Outdoor light to prevent them from flowering early in tropical climate?

In the part of the tropic I live in, In a bout a month and a half any flowering plant will return to vegetate :eyesmoke:
Heavy leaning sativas will reveg here in Hawaii too, but not indicas (unless MAAAYBE acclimated). I had a Malawi reveg at the beginning of summer this year after I took one harvest from it. What part of the tropics are you in (if you feel comfortable to answer)?

Yes my experience with this is all landrace sativa and only strains from central\south America, Ive never had breeder seeds come anywhere close to competing in potency and the uniqueness of flavor.. I do grow outdoors, a good few years back wild fire or whatever you wanna call it burned about a 1,000 acres of my ranch in west tx, very common here. The land now quite rich in pk and what not, grows the finicky sativa's perfectly. I remember the first year after the fire I was so surprised I didn't have to use fertilizer once.. I have had several auto flowering Sativa's so that could be in the genetics. Ive had some very viney strains that I just couldn't keep in veg even under 24\0.. In general they take about 16-18 weeks, I've had some nice plants that went 14 and some that took up to 26.
For the most part recently I grow The Mexican sour, I'm sure she has other names. That's by far my favorite strain, creator of many well known strains she is very sour almost chemmy and can be quite garlicky with blueberry undertones mmm so good burns your eyes when trimming gives a runny nose too. Like sour d in structure flowers about 16 weeks. But when I do grow outdoors its a bit higher up than I already am. High enough that snow isn't terribly uncommon, the longest day of the year is 14hrs here so most everything flowers once maturity is reached without intervention or equatorials tend to with age auto flowering. I've even seen plants grow along the ground vine like that consistently threw bud. No I have never used lights to prevent flowering outdoors, just indoors to save elec I guess. Like I said mainly for mommas males and whatever I deem a keeper
I'm going to have to look up some pics of W. Tx. I imagined it was all flat and sagebrush type desert, but from your post I'm thinking I'm wrong.

Not that you'd need to and you probably already know, but Ace and Cannabiogen have quite a few landrace sativa strains which is what I like.

26 weeks is a long time to wait for some bud, hopefully it was awesome and yielded huge. Cannabiogen's Mangobiche takes up to 26 weeks to finish and it's from Colombia. I wonder if there's any relation to what you had.

And that Mexican Sour sounds great. How's the yield considering it takes 16 weeks?

I'm in Central America, below Mexico and besides El Salvador and Honduras. Had a landrace sativa reveg, planted on 2013, got 2 harvests from it last year :eyesmoke: Both times was attacked fiercely by bud worms, they just LOVE sativas. As well as I do :weed:

I wish I could put up pics I had some but the albums were removed with the site update. The one that went long was Columbian, super airy. Did 12\12 from seed one time and topped it at about 4-5ft and swelled beautifully, like a good 2oz top bud but got bud rot and not that frosty but made a beautiful orange hash oil. Foxtailing was horrible it had dreadlocks and couldn't dream of supporting itself. Anyway yea nice yielder. That sour was similar to a sativa leaning og, wands of dank but could really take the light. Drop my light to 6in and the leaves bleach a little but the nugs get so chunky and dense.

And yea west tx is basically desert just brush everywhere and the trees look like bushes. All mesquite and everything there has thorns or wants to hurt you.
Most of my plants of from mexico i have family there. Only have a few Columbian
