Yes. Florida can be great if properly worked. Soil is sand so dig a big hole and fill with worm castings and sand. Rain is plentiful in summer but before June 1 and after Sept. 1 be prepared to water daily. Large plants in full sun can grow an inch per day up until his week when vegetative stage turns to flowing phase. Large plants can have a water tube the size of a pencil so be prepared to use lots of water. Also avoid proximity to dead pine trees as we have subterranian termites that love tender little plants. Rabbits and deer love it too. Large plants can produce 1 lb. plus. Good luck!

Pros: Long growing season + plenty of sun + warm weather = happy plants; thick undergrowth and mucho alligators/snakes and other assorted animals that can kill or injure tend to dissuade people from going into some decent growing locations.

Cons: It can be damn hard to work in the summertime heat and humidity here; most of FL is swamp or flood land; has some of the harshest marijuana laws in the country + a very large amount of police; thick undergrowth and mucho alligators/snakes and other assorted animals that can kill or injure you. I've been stung or bitten by insects I didn't even know lived in Florida - like scorpions. Good times though. lol

Oh by the way, here's an example of the legalization status in FL:

On June 17, 2008, Gov. Charlie Crist (R) signed into law HB173/SB390, which lumps real drug dealers and small time offenders into the same category by creating the judicial presumption that as few as 25 marijuana plants — one-fourth the amount the federal government considers a trafficking threshold — makes one a "drug trafficker."

Florida already had the dubious honor of having the nation's harshest marijuana possession laws — less than 20 grams can land you in jail for a year and cost you $1,000. Even worse, possession of more than 20 grams is a felony. This new law puts Florida even further ahead of the draconian pack as the Sunshine State can now claim a trafficking standard 4 times as tough as the federal government's!

O boy! so to me is like good news and bad new)))) I know the law is FU...K Up in FL. They thing they are in Hollywood and wanna be a stars. Well i was gonna put my girls in a big pot not in to the grand.Safer for moving around and like you guys say the bags, snakes, and all the other animals out there)))

:leaf:i recommend planting in 5 gallon buckets so you can check the weight off the pot, if it feels light and its not 50% chance of rain that day or more, than its time to help out with water of your own.

in times of tropical storm cells, (high winds, sleet) i would bring them inside, and i recommend finishing the plants last few weeks or so inside because of humidity

whats the helicopter situation in your area?:leaf:
