Been a late Spring but finally we can start '13!!!!! This is the lineup this
year:
3 Barney's farm LSD
2 GHS Bubblegum Kush (from last year's grow)
1 Freebie G13 Labs Cheese
1 Freebie CH9 Seeds Blue Lemon Thai

I was posting on one of the outdoor grow threads but it seems to have
fizzled out. The pic. in the middle is the first day I brought them outside
and my Corgi decided she would stand guard!
Other 2 pic's taken today in my permanent spot. As I am a refugee from
another thread that was a group effort so please post any pictures of your
grow or any suggestions/comments, they are truly welcome! I am using 15
gallon pots this year with farfard container potting mix. They all seem to be
indica dom. at this point which is good with me, my only worry is the amount
of cool moist nights in the Fall. I have read that during flowering cutting all
the fan leaves off increases air circulation. Anyone have an opinion? I will try
to post weekly with pic's and keep this thread going.

Happy Growing!!!:bigjoint:

p.s. had to get a pic. of the B's hat in there, big game tonight!!!

Do not cut the fan leaves during flowering. Thin them out for light penetration as needed but do that while keeping in mind that the fan leaves are the energy collectors of the plant and w/o energy the plant can only die.

Hey man, They look nice and healthy. u def got a late start but you shouldnt have a problem getting those ladies to 4-5ft.
Good luck sir, ill be checking it out the strains sound amazing.

Also when it comes to defoliation i agree with the gentle men above me, try to not defoliate in flower and if you must keep if very minimum.
But in Veg i like to take off like 80% of the Water leaves leaving the 20% @ the top as i was taught the water travels up the plant to those huge leaves
so you leave a couple @ the top to keep sucking water to the top and fresh new part of the plant to keep that baby growing

Outdoors you should not defoliate your plants, even indoors I keep every leaf possible. There is no magic trick to growing, just keep them healthy and by Thanksgiving you should have some well cured Bud.

I disagree sir, i have personally had really good success defoliating my plants. ive had 3-4 plants harvested each yr for past 3 yrs.

1st yr i think i topped once, and no defoliation. got about 1zip per plants.

next yr i did alot more topping and some defoliateing get about 2-3 zips per plant.

3rd yr i topped religiously from 4th node and then the sides that came from it, and defoliated the 80% as i said before and i got about 4-5 per full grown plant
and my best plant had about 9 ozs dry.

so i swear by the topping defoliating method.

Ok, I have grown in this spot 3 different times but never had to trim. This is the first mostly
indica strain's that I've grown and I have had some mold issues in the past. Thank you for the
inpot! er... Put!

Yea outlawing it right now... Getting my medical records together but even if I did get my card I still don't have
a place to grow at my house. I have done small grow's in a closet but I can't keep up with my voracious bud
appitite! I am still smokin' on last years crop. Thanks so much for the input though.

Yes I have never defoliated my plants but this year has been wet and cool and if the same thing happens
in the Fall I could be in for some problems. I was planning on thinning the leaves just before it went into
flower around 1st of August. Just the lower leaves though.

you can grow outdoor medical buds, but ya like you said just my input sir i think as a mass CG you can grow 10-12 ozs per month per patient.
cuz u use to be able to have up to 3 patients i believe but now you can only have one

Lst, top, fim, even a nice scrog, would ALL be better alternatives to defoiliation (spelling?) to help increase yield.

I topped 3 in the front to utilize as much sun as I can, I will lst as soon as the branches lengthen.

Well, it's update time!!! Things are coming along nicely despite the excessive rain we rcd. last night. I am afraid the cheese has gone into flower, I assume from the cool temps and topping at the same time. It was a freebie anyway so I am not too worried. Now if and when she goes back to veg I assume I am going to have ton of branches (from experience of re vegging a finished plant) so should I trim some of them off or let it just bush out? That's really the only bad news so far. I inherited 3 NL Blue fem's from a friend so as long as they germ and survive that will round out my total to 10 girls. This presents some issues as far as watering goes. I grow in places that are close to area's where people can commonly be found. This is dangerous but they are in an area that is no more than 150' from a dirt road/parking area and NOBODY goes into. I am working on creating an "irrigation system" for myself consisting of a power adapter for my cigarette lighter, small extension chord, a 30 gallon bucket buried in the ground, a sump pump and 200' of garden hose. More on that later in the season. You guy's have been great with the comments so just keep 'em comming! :weed:2013-06-08_11-41-32_912.jpg2013-06-08_11-41-07_359.jpg2013-06-08_11-41-04_663.jpg2013-06-08_11-40-55_993.jpg

Maybe it just didn't like the cold (plenty of that lately) it's the Thi and maybe that variety likes the warmer weather. The pic with my hand in it is one of the LSD's. It's really responding well to the improved weather! The sun finally came out today and I was able to figure out that the girls are getting 7-8 hours of direct sunlight at this point. As they get bigger they will get much more direct sunlight. Having some trouble with slugs again, I wonder if there is anything I can put directly in the planter that will kill slugs but won't affect the taste or smell (they are smelling delightfully stinky!) Well, hopefully things continue to pick up and as soon as I can get them out there the 3 NLBlue girls will have a picture taken of them. HAPPY GROWING!!!!:weed:

HOLY SHIT MOMENT!!!!!! I went to stop by my spot and someone has done some bobcat work and someone has done some hand pruning within 10 feet of my spot!!! As soon as I saw the bobcat tracks I wandered around like I was just looking around at plants and when I made it to my spot I saw the plants were still there but obviously I need to get something done QUICKLY! I need to create another spot somewhere and then transfer the girls sometime this weekend... Or do you think I should just leave them and never go back? The area is overgrown and I had to duck down to see the bases of my plants. I am paranoid that whoever did this called the cops and are monitoring the spot or filming it. There is an old broken down building close by that I think they are going to be re-habbing so maybe they didn't notice it... Full moon and clear sky's projected for the weekend so, any advice or opinions you could give would be appreciated.:wall:

If it were me I would just get them the fuck out of there ASAP. Do it at night, and move them far away on a totally different piece of land. Who cares if you are filmed as long as the cops aren't waiting there for you. Wear a mask if it makes you feel better. If you want an outdoor harvest this year your gonna have to move em. I feel for you man, these things do happen sometimes guerilla growing unfortunately. You have to dig reeeeal deep to find that sweet spot.

Thanks for the replies Burner/cheese it's in a small patch of woods so I guess I am going to move them far away as I can. It's a damn shame that I can't grow this LEGALLY in my back yard... Movin' them tomorrow night. I figure Sunday would be the least busy in the area.
