Outdoor clone question

First time using clones..

So I got some GSC and Blue Crack clones from a local club and I have them sitting in my closet on a 18/6 schedule. Would the first week of may be too soon to transfer them in the ground after I 'harden' them off?

I live in So Cal and by May 1st I should be getting 13.5 hours of sunlight.

Sunrise: 6:01am
Sunset: 7:32pm

I live close to TJ. I veg my plants indoors 18/6.. I try to stick 3 outside every 30 days from Feb til September. As soon as I stick them outside they start to flower.. This is what I prefer. Small harvests all year long instead of trimming a tree.. If you want your plant to continue vegging once you put it outside you will have to slowly reduce the hours of light you're giving it til it matches the outdoor schedule. I veg them to about 2 -3 feet and stick them outside to flower.

A general rule Ive seen is that ur clones need at least 14 hours of daylight.. and the majority direct sunlight.. to know for sure that they wont start to flower. Im sure certain crosses will still have pheno's that autoflower on you. Counting down like socal said is also good to ensure that doesn't happen, or u at least know its happening before you plant it outside.
Ive gone from 24/0, 20/4 & 18/6 to in the ground first week of june with no problems of autoflowering unless its an af strain. I have some clones outside right now with shade til around noon that are budding nicely, not very much, but a little bumper crop none the less. as long as they dont drift into the 14 hrs of daylight area without significant shading Im sure theyll continue to bloom alright. I did a winter run in so cal this year where they all went fine no problem, thanks to advice of someone here. definitely give that a try next new years.. it makes u appreciate the weather here more for sure. Enjoy the Cookies,Peace.

Suggestion to avoid potential stress/hermies in your clones:

Organize your light schedule to match your local area. If the sun comes up at
6am, have your indoor lights kick on at 6am. Also, I'd recommend reducing your light
timing to 16/8 so there's less shock when they only get 13/11 outside.

I'm not suggesting what I'm saying is gospel or anything, but less stress is always good. :)

To be honest put those girls out on like may 7th under a tree or in the shade for a day or 2 then move to full sunlight always works for me they adjust just fine don't over think it simple put in shade outside for a few days I've did this with 100 clones at a time and live in humboldt.

That's very interesting, Humboldt.. Never works that way for me. Did you have them under 18/6 before you moved them outside??
