The Hindu kush smells bloody delicious, like mangos.

Anyway, got my seeds for the outdoor adventure:
Mostly Auto's and Sativas (not too mention the shitload of freebies).
My focus will be the Papaya, Himalayan Gold, Lemon Skunk, and Kiwi Seeds 2 Pounder.
I will be setting up a grow box just to veg the plants until they are sturdy enough to go outside. Again I will have some serious obstacles to over-come such as reliable electricity, access to garden, and available nutes in location. I will be moving way up north very near to the equtor so the light schedule will be 12/12 year round, hence the vegetative stage shall be indoors. The remoteness only offers a little buffer ass there will be a number of 'curious' and attentive locals in the area. With very few vehicles around the place it won't take much to draw attention.
Estimate that the grow will be around April once the wet season has dwindled down considerably, however I have heard reports that last season was very very long wet season.

Yrandi.
This is going to commence after the wet season

Cant you grow outside in australia throughout the year?
Or am I incorrect?
G'day Mate,
Good Question.
Good question, difficult to answer in a few short sentences but here's my 2 bob's worth:
Up North is too wet in the wet season, tropical rains drown everything and mould becomes a problem because the rancid humidity.
Down South too cold in the middle of the year.
The temperate climates mid-way along the coasts of the continent may produce two harvests but it's unlikely because of the length of days.
I haven't grown personally for many years, but my mates will tell you that it's best to harvest once with a number of gardens. The herb is decriminalized in two states and one territory, so what happens is that each house-hold will grow in the yard up to the maximum number of plants 'for personal use' and those that don't smoke will simply pass the herb on to those relatives that do.

As I am about to relocate to a new home I decided to plant another seed and give it to a mate as a parting gift, here it is after one day of direct sunlight in my part of the world.

Just to show you how bloody hot it is around here, this poor little indica SUFFERED big time in just one day. With this in mind I reckon I did a pretty good job producing the plants that I did.
This one is 8 days old, it was it's first outing into the real world, it had been under two cfl's up until today. My grow box has been dismantled.

it sounds like 1 1/2 litres is a little excessive water for your plants. id be cutting back on the nutes and just giving water until, as others have said, the lower leaves start to yellow and your plants start to tell you that they are hungry.
ive never grown with cfl's or the like before. i use 600w and 1000w HPS from start too finish. the grow i have started now is from seeds which i have never done before either, always had clones and mother plants.
with your heat issue.. where is your fresh air coming in on the cabinet and where is it being expelled from on the cabinet ?

Friends,
Been a while I know. I've relocated to a very remote place and have very limited internet connection.
I've started a new adventure and have had to make my own soil out of whatever I could scrounge and make from compost.
Things are going ok so far, I will update with pics in a new thread over the next few days. I have had to start with a new system for my adventure- I am using solar powered aeroponics after a brief indoor vegging cycle due to intermittent power.

Hey man,
Nuh, no time in the slammer, I've been out bush and up in the mountains. I'm in an area where there's practically 12/12 light all year (about 9degrees off the equator). I've set up a slap-stick veg room in a burnt out van with some autos which I am now putting outside with my solar power aerogarden. I've also been mixing my own compost so hopefully I can get a few weeks of veg time before throwing my outdoor plants into the equatorial sunlight. So far my plants are:
NYC Deisel (Aerogarden)
Easy Rider (1x Aerogarden and one x Soil)
Speed devil (Aerogarden)
Green-o-matic (Aerogarden)
Walk about (soil)
Cluster Bomb (Soil)
I've got a few others but they've not yet shown their heads (Himalayan Gold, Tundra, White Widow, Vanilla Cush, Lemon Skunk).
