Our First Grow... Uh, Second Attempt

Those jiffy pots dry out fast. I've lost a couple of seedlings myself because of them. Put them in a cloning tray & that will help, or just use some plastic cups.

The 2 on the outside of the contained kept drying out way faster then the others.

Don't worry to much I killed 20 or 30 seedlings by the time I got 2 good plants. I just loved the little things to death.
Cheers for the advice man. I bought some of those jiffy pots last week but fuck it i"m not gonna use them now. :-|

Well, it's a sad day. We lost all of our seedlings. Well, at least they look pretty dead. I watered them to try to bring them back to life. Not really sure what the primary cause was: temperature, too CLOSE to the light (my fault), not enough water, etc.

Here's the thing, every time I checked on these new seedlings, they were bone-dry. We used those bio-degradable small containers, not sure if they were sucking up all the water from the soil.

Oh well, no use crying over dead seedlings. We're going to germinate new ones today, so we'll see what happens. We have plenty of bagseeds to mess with, so here we go again.
Sorry to hear about your seedlings.

Just light up a :joint: and listen to this tune ok

I should have been a little clear man, I have only lost 2 due to the jiffy pots drying out. This is my first grow using jiffy pot, I will use them again, I'll just be more cautious. I killed a lot of seedlings in the beginning because I was inexperienced & kept messing with them. I loved them to death.:blsmoke:

LOL thanks for the advice about those pots. I'll try the tray, and if that doesn't work I'll go to normal plastic cups.

We have two older plants that are doing ok at the moment. I'll post up some pics soon, the ones pretty old, but it's finally starting to get bigger. I think they were just so traumatized from the time they were seedlings from all the problems with had with our room.

In the process of regerminating and making a stealth box to grow our seedlings in, so we'll let you know how that turns out.

Later!

Hi Guys! It's been a while since we've updated, but that's cuz we had a few seedlings, and then they died. So now we have a few more seedlings!

We also think that our two older plants are female, and possibly ready to flower. What do you guys think?? There are pics attached. In the meantime, since our room is so hot, we've started building a stealth-box for our seedlings and small plants. We'll post pics when it's done!

Any comments, suggestions, etc are welcome and appreciated! :peace:

The temperatures aren't that bad. The high for the day is usually around 90 at about 2:30pm. The lows are usually around 83-85. I know this is high but the plants don't seem to mind, they are growing nice and looking healthy! We also just finished our stealth box where the temp has been steady at around 80. We will post some pictures of that later on tonight, were very excited about our new little contraption!

As always your comments are greatly appreciated, and well check back later with more pictures.

Thanks again!

Hey everyone! So we shut the lights out for 36 hours to force the plants into flowering. Now we've switched to 12/12 schedule with 4 - 54W Bloom T5 fluorescents and 2 - 26W CFL Grow Bulbs. We ordered bloom bulbs for these as well, they should be here soon!

There aren't any signs of sex yet, we can only hope for females! Any comments or suggestions are appreciated!

Check out our pics:
#1: Plant #1 before lights off
#2: Plant #2 before lights off
#3: Plant #1 after lights off - 2 days into flower
#4: Plant #2 after lights off - sames as above

impatience....... we looked into the sog method, and decided to try it out. so we thought they were big enough for sog, and decided to flower.

they are pretty small though. but we think it could be genetics, bagseed. and it was our first time, so they've just been traumatized from the start!

it's been two weeks into flower, and still no sign of sex... although they have practically tripled in size, they used to be way smaller. not sure if we're doing something wrong or what... but we're just hoping for the best!! it's some experience to say the least... lol.

later! :blsmoke:

The younger they are when you start to flower the longer it will take them to start to flower. I think you should start to see sex by next weekend. Then it will take another week or 2 before they really start to flower.

Look around the 5th & 6th nodes, that's where the first ones will be.

So far they are looking pretty good. Nice & compact nodes.
