Our Crazy Climate.

Mornin' all,

As some of you may have noticed in the eastern U.S., it's really fucking cold and snowy. Yet 2 winters ago in these very same regions, there was no winter. Areas that will struggle to reach 10F next week were near 80 degrees in 2012.

And the rest of the planet during the winter of 2013-14?...above normal. The coldest average below temp on the globe last month occurred in the U.P of Michigan, while Greenland experienced the warmest above their average.

What does this mean for the U.S?, unfortunately bad news from the Appalachian chain to the Pacific that is driving this insane weather...which is also responsible for the ongoing drought in the west. Ocean temperatures take several years to adjust themselves, and we have only been in this weather pattern for a year.

So, if you plan on growing outdoors this summer...plan on a repeat of 2013.

Good to know, Sunbiz -- I ran into INSANE early rainstorms in mid September last year, and they lasted 2 weeks, trying to ruin my finishing time. (CaretakerDad, you remember that series of storms?) I had to drag all the ladies inside, and dry them out, in an attempt to finish them up.

I've been thinking about the adjustments needed for next Summer's grow, and forcing to flower in mid-May by using a blackout cover. I'll have two sativa strains that take 12-14 weeks to flower. If this upcoming year will be a repeat of last year, then I gotta do it *right* this time.

Thanks again Sunbiz.

I remember this from the outdoor grow thread last year, people having to tie down branches/harvest early etc. What I ran last summer in the ground is perfect for your area b/c it finishes late Sep and doesn't like a ton of UV...only it's straight indica.

Peace
