Other Medically Beneficial Herbs and oils

All my life I've been interested in the natural approach to things, you know less chemicals, less medicine, more healthy kind of a livin. When I started growing and researching cannabis it opened my min quite a bit. I thought if this plant can have so many uses what other plants are we over looking that could benefit us.

I have been experimenting with many herbs and even with all I've learned I still don't know all the properties they possess! I wil be attending school soon and hope to learn much more but i thought I'd see what some of you may know.

Here's some my favorite herbs:
ginger- anti nausea!
sage- anti-spasmodic (helps muscle spasms)
lavender - anti inflammatory
mint - anti nausea, anti anxiety

its not just herbs there are many other natural things such as oils and beeswax

now I'd be happy to hear any facts or comments on the subject, whats your favorites ?

This made me laugh for me it was...excuse me while i huff some tarragon infusion. That aside tarragon is one the new to my list its great aromatically for anxiety and depression. Do you have anything to add? IM also interested in distillation of essential oils and wondering the effects/benefits for this with cannabis.

Garlic - natural antibiotic
Cherry bark, mullen - cough supressent , expectorant
elderberry , enchancia - immune system stimulant
Jimmson weed seed's and all datura's 2-3 ONLY act as a effective anti-nausea ,contains scolpolamine
Cinnimon - drops blood sugar
Plantain - great for almost all skin irratiations
Blackberry root - anti diarrhea

THank you for your addition i knew about the mullen and cinnamon but not the others. DO you know how the plantain helps skin irritations i make herbal hygiene products and im curious if it would be beneficial to my soaps.

Do you know the best was to utilize these benefits? And also i know garlic can cause gas and bloating LIME WATER with helps with this. I dont recommend drinking purely lemon and lime water as they are acidic and for me too much upset my stomach.

As time permits id like to compile a more in depth list about each of these and update it as new information is presented. Also we dont have to exclude cannabis that question about distilling it with water is still needin an answer :)

Heres another addition im sure i will love!
GRIPE WATER- used to soothe colic in infants good for digestion

So my little girl isnt quite 2 months old and she has some tummy issues, everyday she is gassy and screams till i can bounce all the burps out. I do giver her simeticone gas drops and peppermint in combination and it still seems to take forever. I was reading one day amd seen gripe water amd looked it up ive found many variations but most common i found was ginger, chrushed fennel, and chamomile tea. Tonight was one the roughest nights she cried non stop for hours and every had difficullty breathing from it so i crushed some fennel seeds and mixed it with camomile tea and a bit of sugar. She had about 15cc and with in minutes calmed down and stated burping like crazy in 25 she was asleep. sigh new favorite gripe water

ingredients:
1 finger ginger
1tbs crushed fennel seeds
1 chamomile tea bag
1 tsp sugar

going to pick mulberries, again, down by the Delaware. just growing like weeds. made mulberry ice cream topping, and now I want to make a mulberry/bourbon BBQ sauce for chicken. i pick jewelweed, to make poison ivy medicine, mullein leaves, in case I have to poop while I'm back there, lambsquarter, purslane. food.........everywhere!

I just found this, just a heads up:
A study of 122 infants between 6 to 12 months of age showed that those who drank tea were significantly more likely to develop microcytic anemia, or anemia accompanied by small blood cells (3). Because tea interferes with the absorption of iron, 32.6% of tea drinkers developed this condition versus only 3.5% of non-tea drinkers (3). It is recommended that if tea is given to infants that it is done so hours before and after meals so as not to negatively impact the absorption of nutrients (3).

A beverage comparison study found that although inhibition of iron absorption was the highest in black tea (79-94%), it was second highest in peppermint tea (84%) and significant in chamomile tea as well (47%) (8).

I use a lot of fresh aloe here in Hawaii. Sometimes, when my nose (or other body parts) gets too pink/sunburnt I apply and reapply and reapply or I'll even tape a fresh piece of aloe to my nose overnight. Helps, tremendously. Not sure about the aloe gels that you can get in a bottle, but I know fresh aloe works wonders for burns/surnburn.

Garlic is another fav. I once had an abscess on my arm that was drained of fluid, but after it healed over I noticed that there was still puss/black colored gunk (nasty i know) under the skin. I crushed up a garlic clove and applied the poultice - leaving it on for NO LONGER than around 15 min (or else it can become caustic to skin). Took if off, rinsed, and reapplied....repeated and repeated, etc.. And eventually, the crushed garlic started to draw up all that gunk and puss right up thru my skin. Was really weird to watch, but I'll never forget that!!!!

I also use coconut oil a lot. It's delicious to use in cooking, good massage oil, makes a great lube :lol: , anti-fungal/microbial/bacterial/etc, and a whole plethora of other health benefits.

Sounds rather nice sbd the mullen can be used as more than tp as said about you can make a tea with it or you can smoke it personally i like to smoke it ive met quite a few people who use ut this way and best thing about it the whole plant in different stages benefits us

This os really good to know. I had seen prolonged use could cause problem but just that general statement can i ask where you found thst

Those are a few of my favorites that I use regularly amongst others.
Most store bought aloe gel will work pretty well on sunburns but nothing bests fresh! Your very lucky to have some imo

And you peaked my interest i know i can make lube eith cornstarch and water but coconut oil? Never thought of that im wondering though if it would make it harder to clean up
