pink hairs romulan?
nah I can't remember the strain, it was a hybrid f1 of something.
Not something you could buy.
It is a pretty strain but I doubt the herb itself will be anything to remember.
Looks nice though.
My buddy thinks it's going to dry that way... he is reaaaaally reluctant to listen to people...
Older grumpy-stubborn ass irish dude... Only reason he finally listened to me on organics is because he always saw what I was doing in the sheds... yr after yr..
(oh, and i'm irish, so I can talk shit)

Well all that shit looks great as far as healthy plants and great yields.

sometimes people use what they know how to use because it works for them, and sometimes they are literally scared to try/risk anything new for fear of not having harvest. I know a couple people like that.

a couple of grow friends of mine i'm going to make a soil mix for and tell them, "don't put anything but water in these". just a couple 7 gal for them to do one run in of their favorite plant. they're stoked to try it.

thank you.
He is actually going to reuse his soil too.
After years of tossing thousands of gallons of soil off the side of the cliff...

What recipe did you give him? Looks amazing, wish I had you around to shoot shit over organics. Been reading a lot, I like to read about secondary effects from ammendments.

Like how they help resist disease, think it was soybean meal

it was a "weaker" and cheaper version of my typical base recipe,
30% peat
30% aeration
30% worm castings.
only he chinsed on the castings (typical for him)
he chinsed a lil on the nutes too.
BUT he didn't feed all the damn time, and didn't use chemicals.
the mix was realistically probably closer to this ratio
35% peat
10% coco
35% aeration
20% castings
the nutes/minerals were fish bone meal, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, crab meal, oyster flour, soft rock, and fish meal.
He left out my other recommendation based on cost (after all he was only making like a couple thousand gallons)
I wanted some neem meal, shrimp meal, and more compost in there, but it was alright.
He fed four times with fish hydrosylate, and kelp meal

oh, and an update...
he evidently harvested ALL his plants this weekend...
Against my advice...
Those look ready to you guys??
Ugh..like at least 15 days early...
:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
After all that...
:x
Oh well, mine are still there... And he is gonna put a cover crop on his soil for the winter.
It's hilarious, he's always asking how to get his plants to look like mine, and yet rarely listens to anything I say..
Oh well...
baby steps..

hey eventually will come around, but honestly the next time he asks you something i'd shoot him a "why you're not gonna listen to what i am trying to tell you, or follow my advice anyway." just for the hell of it. that usually gets people's attention :)

hmm, I could take pics of that I suppose, but the are in huge flat drying screen rack thingys, so it just looks like tons of nugs.
He is breaking SO many cardinal rules...
trims with a machine.... dries as FAST as time will allow, no cure, just dry and ship.
The nugs were cut down on fr/sat/sun, and they'll be out of here by next weekend or sooner if it dries fast enough....
Such a travesty...
BUT that's what happens when the grower ISNT a smoker....
All about the $$$ and how fast...
Sigh....
Lets take a moment to lament for those ladies that never got to see their potential.

Thanks for this post GMM, it's definitely an eye opener! I'm glad it didn't take me long to grasp the concept of keeping my soil alive. It helps that I read about organics and the soil web too! Also, thanks for gracing me with some of your knowledge as I begin this wonderful journey.

I got my homie all on the organic water only mix too...I recycle it & sell him clones all rooted out in 3g pots- so all he has to do is a 3 week veg & flower them out & gives me back the root ball for the next set.
Then he got his homie all hooked up with my clones & recycled mix which worked out great until dude decided to pick the plant at first sight of orange pistils...ugh I feel ya bro the struggle is real.. But whatcha gonna do? Everybody gotta start somewhere & make noob mistakes along the way; sometimes ya gotta learn what not to do first
