Hello,

In my quest to understand and enjoy the fruits of my labors, it is important for me to practice proper organic growing procedures. Growing organically creates some of the cleanest, tastiest and aromatic profiles one can produce.

If interested in growing organically it is important to start with the basics. The basics are understanding the soil food web, soil structure, and how important a proper soil balance will play in your growing experience.

Teaming with Microbes

-The best book to read about the soil food web, hands down. Read this book first, before you even learn how to grow Cannabis.

marijuana Botany
-The BEST source for understanding the Cannabis sativa/indica/ruderalis.

Growing Organically, Soma Style
-An exceptional understanding of organic practices can be had here.

Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis: An Expert Breeder Shares His Secrets

-A great grower first, and then a great breeder. One of the originals, a lot of his published works from Cannabis Culture can be found in one source here.

Rollitup.org Forum: Subcool's Oldschool Organics
Subcool from TGA Genetics produces awesome yields, exceptional cannabis, and 'dank' genetic lines from his breeding company. Furthermore, his super soil is a solid, proven formula that works. I recommend all his threads, and to read them all--totally through---twice---until you ask any questions. I say this because your question has already been answered.

For advanced growers and practitioners, I recommend this for pruning:

Enjoy, and have fun....a green thumb is a lot more than just producing quality ganja.

Some good books for new organic growers and old growers alike. Yes, I am bumping my own thread because there is a lot of good information listed here for beginners and experts.

Snafu1236,

This thread is, indirectly, loaded with info and deserves another bump. Soma and Microbes are two of my favorite gardening resources. Have you gotten your hands on Worms Eat My Garbage? It's a more specifically centered around vermicomposting but valuable nonetheless.

This is great - a list of scientific organic gardening books can definitely help the community.

Thank you.

Thank you! I have not read that one, as I do not do much in the way of vermicomposting...but I am looking into it for my vegetable garden next Spring. I will have to be sure to pick this one up...so thank you!

If anyone comes across this thread and wants to add in some other good growing or organic growing books, please do so!

Does anyone know where you can download Soma's Organic Marijuana? I've bought it, I'm not a freeloader just really bad at not losing important things when I move and also cash poor! :?
