Orange edges fading into yellow and then to green at the veins

Greetings,

This problem has been going on for about 2 weeks now, I've been attempting to fix the issue. I have done Ph'd flushes with plain distilled water, 2 days later I ph distilled water again with garden lime ground up into it (yes, ph'd after the lime and let sit to make sure it was stable). 2 days later I gave 1/4 strength root-n-gro by bonide, again distilled ph water.

The situation seems to be getting worse and I figure I should hand it over to the experts.

Room temps 76-80 (lights on) 72-74 lights off
Hempy pot, 3 liter bottles 100% perlite
feed water feed water is how I do it, every 2 days.

Water ph'd to 5.8-6.0

The following are pictures of the two plants that are effected by this issue.

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Man I feel bad you haven't heard about this, thought it's been around for a while. First time trying it for me, must say I've been pleased with the results thus far aside from this recent problem.

The consensus is to run 100% perlite rather than vermiculite, but if you want to water less you put vermiculite in to hold the water for a few more days.

i'm confused about the system with 100% perlite, but it looks like you've taken some clones out of a semi-mature flower as clones?

if the plants are in flower, i'd say some sort of over fert/ ph lockout. can you go into a little more detail on your soil/nut lineup? lights might be helpful too :-o

neved - I have not used any cal/mag yet, on first thought I was thinking it was calcium problems, and garden lime "is" cal/mag but I don't know how available it is in hydroponic systems. I've used it in soil of course with the mixes, just to keep a nice buffer for the ph, however I don't know if it's soluable. I crush it up quite fine and stir it vigourously into the water, let it settle and stir again, let it sit for a few hours and ph adjust.

as for nutes I use a local nute that isn't specifically designed for this application, however it has performed before IN SOIL, again this is a test run into hempy and I have not invested in a named brand hydro nute system, the fertilizer however is water soluable and have looked up the ingredients, they are used in most cannabis products.

These are actually plants that were started a little over a month ago, I wanted to test how they would perform from 2 weeks in the veg room and then thrown into flowering.

ok, missed the hempy pot for some reason.... bongsmilie .... i dunno. but anyhow, by just looking at the signs eg. shiny, extra dark green, clawing leaves showing discoloration from top leads to over fert. then again, bottom leaves yellowing and saggy says N deficiency... which leads to believe ph.

And that's what I was thinking, prehaps 5.8-6.0 isn't low enough? on the other plant don't know if you can see it really well but the leaves aren't as dark (never were) this plant in particular has had waxy dark green for a while, just started to claw when the problem started. Well I suppose I'll add a meter to my list of things I'm going to get for christmas. These drops are just not accurate enough.

Think this would also cause the orange fringes? I've never seen a plant do that without going crispy..

never seen it personally, but when a plant takes all it can get, it can lock out other nutrients. so also a possibility on top of ph.

I'll take the plants out again today and get a few more pictures of them, they haven't had a proper nute dose in a little over a week, today was the day I was going to feed them again, but prehaps I shouldn't? Just give em plain water (ph'd) again and see how they progress? They are however slowly declining, dunno if I'll be able to keep them live long enough to get a harvest out of em, that was of course my main concern.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas, they are greatly appreciated.

Went ahead and did a cal/mag foliar spray to see if that will help things out, good news the other plant is about 50/50 brown/white trichromes so harvest time! Will keep this thread updated with pictures as progression continues.

Well it's X amount of days later, foliar spray seemed to halt the discoloration for now. I've gone to a couple local garden stores in a hunt for calmag to no avail. I was thinking prehaps hydrated lime? Might be a long shot, anyone know if this stuff would be safe/suitable for a supplement like the product calmag would?

Well Merry Christmas!

Last nights watering was upsetting to say the least. Fungus gnats, or what I'm thinking are fungus gnats are thriving in the perlite.

I'm wondering if this is where the problem is coming from now, and why all my attempts to correct the problem has failed.

Anyone ever battled these in a soilless system before?

Any pointers?

I'll be on google searching as I have been all day, thanks ahead of time for any responders.
