Opinions on the spider farmer SF2000

Just got in the spider farmer sf2000. Wanted to see how it’ll do against the blurples I already have. Looking for some input on these and wondering results people are seeing with these.

I’m currently running 2 bloomspect 1200 (says ~260w actual each, haven’t tested but I know it’s less and has 2 fans in each.) I was running one of these lights and seemed to be growing a bit slower than I’d like so added the second and they took off. No signs of light stress until I got both lights under 20” so moved them back up to 22” and doing great.

Seems like people are getting much better results with the Samsung diodes and MW drivers. May need to change the tent around slightly for the shape of the light, but will the SF2000 still produce a solid yield for 2 plants in a 3x3 with only being ~200w? I could supplement extra light with one of the lights mentioned above or I have some smaller blurples if needed.

If I like this SF2K I’ll most likely be grabbing the 4000 for a 5x5 on my next grow.

I'm using 1 over just a single soil plant in 5 gal. I'm not so sure it will cover a full 3 x 3 spread as the 600w hps next to it throws farther spread. It is working nicely over the plant its on though. I'm still at least 6-7 weeks out from any sort of judgement call. I had a 2nd plant under it but since I forgot what freebies I popped when it shot up twice as tall with no sign of buds yet I culled to maintain even canopy height.

I had a similar issue but my plants were same strain that took on totally different Phenos. Had one that was hard to top because the nodes were so tight and one stretching like crazy. I ended up just doing some aggressive lst on the stretcher to try to keep things even and slow it down a bit. I think it worked out well, not as good looking as the other plant I have going now but I can live with it.

I ended up putting the light in and kept one of the bloomspect 1200s in with it. Really impressed with brightness of the sf2000. Its nice to look at my plants and see some true color instead of purple lol now I just have to wait and see how it does.

SF models are absolutely a great deal for the money. Legit LM301B Samsung diodes for a good price. That light will kill it.

The usual recommendation is 30-35 watts per square foot with quality white LED and around 50 for blurples. I'd supplement the SF2000 with about 100w of your blurples in a 3x3. I'd go with a 4x4 for the SF-4000.

I'd highly suggest 2 SF2000's over 1 SF4000. The ability to spread out the light in to two and have different hanging heights will be invaluable.

this is exactly what I did and I highly suggest it as well. I can space them a tad in the middle and get better coverage and raise and lower the sides independently.

For my next grow If I can squeeze 5x5 or more out of the area I’m working with, my plan was to buy the 4K to veg and add the 2k that I have in flower. If I can only get around 4x4 I’ll definitely just grab another 2000 and run 2 of those.

Sorry to hijack , instead of making a new thread I have a question about the sf1000, is it the best bet for a 2x2 , 1 or 2 plant grow for the money?

Probably after seeing Mi-Gro's review.
Thing is, like all China Manufacturers, they lie about stuff like umol/j. Its not 2.7 as claimed online. But it is comparable to a real HLG QB with maybe even a sleeker design.
Layer of rubber peals back & can be problematic maybe said the video.
Not a fan of boards myself but do like the mix of 5k & 3k (think what they have) with the 660. Dimmer under driver?

A DIY strip light can be hard to beat. 8 of these and a driver will rock a 2x2.

It's an XLG-100-H-A driver. I think the dimmer is on the underside, not so convenient.

You will get away with it but density and yield will suffer, need another 100 watts of cheap leds

Another reason I suggest TSL2000's when people are set on getting a Mars fixture. 2 150w drivers with dimming knobs/potentiomers ON TOP of the drivers and ACCESSIBLE.

The spida farmer lights are available on alibaba for less than half the price

I also couldn’t find spider farmer brand but rather kits and preassembled lights using the same LM301B diodes with a meanwell HLG-480H-C2800AB driver (identical to the spider farmer sf4000 if I’m not mistaken?) Anyone using this light or the diy kits from alibaba that can give some reassurance before I grab one?!

Actually just noticed then SF4000 uses an ELG-240-48A not the HLG-480H-C2800AB. Any notable difference in those two drivers or things I shouldn’t know before purchasing?
