Opinions on Alcohol

See there is nothing wrong with the liquor, its doing what its suppose to be doing, Sqizz. There is a problem with how you want to approach the activity.

There is something called tasteful drinking. Then there are the people who drink to get 'fucked up'.

EDIT: When I sold weed and had near unlimited access, I was smoking $100/day easy squeazy-lemon peazy. Of course that was based on what it cost me.

And crypt, yes it's very easy to smoke that much in a day. Back when i broke my neck about a year ago i was smoking upwards of 5+ Blunts a day with many many bowls in between blunts.

Then again, i was growing then so smoking 7 or 8 grams in a day was nothing.

Its not too much to smoke say 10 J`s a day though, it just seems a lot becuase of the measily amounts people illegaly and expensively buy :)

But Michael, if its all about getting fucked up why not do it with something with less side effects than booze?

I do get fucked up with fellow students but thats because I feel more in place when I`m not doing drugs and just fitting in with the boring old booze..

Exactly, weed is so over priced it makes me sick... Although i have been getting some pretty good deals, i picked up a half O of some fire for a $100 a couple days ago, pretty stoked on it haha.

Well not everything is about getting fucked up for me, in fact most substances i do because i want to test the boundaries of consciousness and alternative realities. Booze is pretty much the only substance i use under the idea that im doing this to get fucked up. Im not really a big fan of having 2-3 drinks, alcohol is either an all or nothing type of thing for me...

Not to say i dont enjoy myself a couple daily beers though :D

I guess that kinda contridicts my all or nothing statement haha.

I drink a mickey, or a twelve when I do drink. But thats usually of the course of 6-10 hours. If alcohol is metabolized and excreted at roughly a shot-and-a half per hour. I won't exceed 4-6 drinks in my system at any point. The scariest thing I can imagine is needing dialysis or anykind of invasive surgery because I was over indulgent.

What are your thoughts and opinions about alcohol? Do you drink? What do you think about its legal status, acceptance into society, effects (positive and negative)? The fact that people say Drugs and Alcohol because they don't want to come to terms with the fact that they are a drug user. Why do you think it ended up being the drug of choice for so many people, so many that its legal almost everywhere. What do you think about the fact that most parents would rather see their kid drink at a young age than smoke weed? What do you think about alcoholism? In relation to other addictions?

Anyway I just thought i would throw all this out there to open it up for discussion.
Hello asdf1, I have drank to my limits in the past but now I'm almost 30 in a few years. You say you can't drink and drive? Well I did it. That's called breaking the law, someone says? That's Greaatt!! Do I get a medal or maybe a special prize? Probably fucking not. haha just kidding. Maybe I got caught once and still spiteful about it. That's just it.
Alcohol is an uninhibitor drug, more so than marijuana. Atleast with marijuana, I have the safety of my couch and house. When I get so high, I never think about picking up the car keys to go out, as long as the couch entertainment works out. Now with alkyhall, after a few beers, it's time to pick up the cellphone and start calling the drinking/smoking buddies! Then, after already being drunk or inebriated, I could get in my car and drive to see friends, looking to get extra fucked up.

Alcohol is the worst legal drug, to be abused, IMO daily basis of more than a beer, or more than a few beers on the weekend. The government and our media show us alcohol equals happy party time, forget your sickness. Yes, being sick is exactly how the body reacts to too much alcohol, abuse. Noone likes going into the toilet after an alkyholic on sunday morning at mcdonalds. A chronic alcohol abuser gets some nasty movements the next day. I never, never had cannabis mess up my colon.
The Government taxes the $hit out of drinking alcohol. It has been noted that someone said Alcohol's wide spead legality was a high level mistake that should not have happened. IMO, therefore the debate about if alcohol is legal and people can vomit on public toilets but smoking marijuana is bad, there is no just comparison. Because the government isn't going to *restrict* or *control* alcohol when it is a TAX TREASURE. Marijuana....the best stuff grows deep under grownd in vaults that the government never gets paid for. It get's growd in people's closets. In people's basements. The government is pissed off about marijuana because they can't tax it 100 percent. Can anyone distill some grain alcohol in their house? NO. Can Billy Joe Cletus Dorfenburger put some bag seed in a pot of dirt outside and grow himself some smoke to satisfy his mind? YES!!!! So ... alcohol is the enemy of weed in general. And I mean Hard alcohol, whiskeys, rums, vodkas... etc. IMO. However beer and wine are old...not sure about beer but I know wine goes back to the Super Bible Days when homosexual cities were exploded and Bushes burned (GW BUSHES dont burn?). Yea, wine.

All in or nothing is exactly what liquor does to the mind. I forgot to mention I worked at a Restaurant that had 2 for 1 happy hour all day. Typically after I got out of there at 1045PM I would hit the other restaurant that's open til 12 and they had pitchers of beer for 5 bucks. it was a brutal cycle that led to some little demises. Pot gave me bronchitis once, thx to a bong. Alcohol fucks people up like a hurricane. It doesn't get everybody, but enough people do fall into the bottomless cyclone called alcoholism

What's the point in drinking if not to get fucked up though?

It's all about the binge drinking!

This always gets a laugh from me too. People say "oh I just sociably drink, I am not drinking to be drunk, I just like the taste".

Well then why don't you drink water, instead of something that kills your liver and brain cells.

They also say "I like the way it makes me feel". Newsflash, you are drinking for the effect, not for the taste.

I am glad I don't drink something that is toxic to my body anymore. Would rather use a chemical that is better for my body.

But I do think about having a cold beer on a hot day continusley, I quess that puts me in the "alcoholic group"

Well I don't drink socially, but I don't drink to get 'drunk' per se and I hate the taste.

It has been shown that drinkers that have only 2-3 drinks a day have up to 20% longer life than heavy drinkers and 12% longer life than non-drinkers.

It is also an incredible creative aid.

The longer life is related to the stress relief of moderate drinking.... Just don't overdo it. Everythings fine in moderation, even meth. Its just how easy it is to limit yourself.
