It looked ready. I just use the trichs as confirmation. I never used to, but after finding this forum, the first thing I went out and bought was a PC Microscope..... but anyway, this one was stumping me hence the question posted.

I actually can't really tell from photos if a plant 'looks' ready to chop from just looking at the buds or the main cola. I mean, yeah, you can get a good impression but actually, I think that nobody could even say with 100% certainty that they are from a photo. That's why I just upped the trichs pics. Besides, my camera ain't the best anyway ;-)
I can tell from a photo..or a few, good ones of course. I don't use a scope on my grows. I've taught myself to see when they are ripe.

Never judge harvest by trichs before the calyx's swell imo. Also, try to check them on the calyx's instead of the leaf.

Sometimes you need to pay attention to the stage of color change instead of the actual colors because there is no such thing as always clear/cloudy/amber. It could be clear/pink/purple clear/yellow/red ect depending on genotypes/phenotypes hell it could be mostly amber or mostly cloudy.

Let me know how your big bud turns out. I harvested mine on the 29th of last month. It's currently curing. Haven't even tried it out yet, patiently waiting. :weed:
Well, It's nicely cured now, perfect dryness and smells real rank. I had some in a bag in my pocket and you could see everyone sniffing out where that pong was coming from. Nice head high, not too couch locked. Still able to resist the crisps and sweets and get up to cook. Got about 120 gr from 2 seeded 12/12. I'm not smoking anything else right now I like it so much :eyesmoke:

Thankfully mine came out right around the same description you gave of yours and that's becoming my favorite wake n bake over the pineapple haze. :weed: It might have some more competition though depending on how this purple haze and raspberry cough affect me when they are done. :bigjoint:
