Opinions in my grow room

Hi experts,

I've built my first grow room... at first I thought it would be ok...now it doesnt feel so great, so I would like to have your opinion in what I can do better with what I have so far... since I dont want to spend more money.

So what I used was a fridge card box and covered it in mylar plastic...(a poor job... I should not have used glue in the mid section)

Then got a 250w HPS light kit.... and a vent that should put out 190m^3/h. By my calculations ( since my box is 60x60x150cm) it should be enough...

But then I thought about the smell problem and bought an air filter... well... it seems to take all the power from the vent...

So... I would like to have your input in what can I do to improve this.

:)

The foil is going to increase your temps. I'd ditch it and get some panda film. Use some spray adhesive to attache it a lot cleaner. You can probably get away with doing two high end CPU fans on each side (intake/exhaust). Buy a cut to size carbon filter and tape to the back of the exhaust fans.

Take your time. Growing requires much patience. So practice that with the construction of your box. Take your time and make the mylar nice, it cost money, why do an okay job, do a great job. Cover and reinforce all the seams on your box with tape, maybe packing tape since it's cardboard. The biggest problem I see is that it looks like it took 10 minutes to setup. Remember that is a house, an environment for your ladies. You don't want to half ass anything if you can afford not to. Taking the time to make it neat, instead of sloppy would be the first step towards a succesful grow box. That is just my opinion and it's all out of love. Not trying to be mean or put down your work. Trying to be honest and encourage you to make the best box you can. If you have specific, lighting, venting, light sealing or whatever, any specifics to be answered post those questions up. You have an enclosure, lighting, air exchange, looks like you have most the components there, looks thrown together though.

Thanks for the input.

I do have extreme heat problems... in 40min the temperature went from 22º to 37º.
The walls are covered in mylar not foil... I just did a poor job putting it toguetter... looks like foil :s

I noticed the extractor loses a LOT of efficiency with every turn the ventilation tube does.
The problem is I cant fit the odour filter right after the vent... I dont have enough space..

I'm planing on growing 2 plants there, what do you recomend for odor control? I was planing in using an odorsok filter... and that was it... not sure if its enough or if I can use it if I want to keep the plants cool.

Does that ona botles work well for instace?

Foil can cause uneven lighting and burn your plants. Paint it white or use the mylar stuff.

Carbon filters aren't designed to have air pushed through them, air needs to be pulled through (fan outside) and be as close to the heat/smell as possible.
