Opiate Withdrawal

Man... Opiates are the devil... Smoked that stuff for long enough-- 30's, opandas, 80's.... Still coughing up tar from it.

When I didn't have them or had no hope of having them, I'd be in bed 80%+ of the day.. When I had em i was a king.... Still to this day, been sober for a while, i have flash backs just knowing you'll never feel taht again....that feeling.. sliding that shit, holdin it in, then exhale it to be on top the world-- or to stop your sickness...

The worst feeling is smelling something when you're out on the town that smells like they do when smoked........ it just brings a world of pain up, luckily the MJ keeps me sane.

If you need to ease pain, dont take the dr's pills.. use some good concentrate...

Amen brotha, pills just send you spiraling down another road of addiction, I know plenty o' people who aren't on the opiates anymore, but they are taking things like Xanax mixed with Sleeping pills mixed witha bit of weed to get them in a literal zombified state to where tehy can't talk like a normal human being... They're trying to remove the sadness. They also mix in sub's with that...

Yeah, i get the feeling every couple weeks like 'Damn, i'm not going to have that euphoria again...' But then I think, I'm also not going to be bed ridden every couple days if i cant smoke one right when I wake up... Weigh out the pro's cons, being sober is MUCH MUCH better.

I been using opiates for 10 years off and on. I had very bad withdrawals quitting in the past..just riding through it. I don't worry when I run out anymore thanks to sativa medical strain LSD..does settle myself at night. But most helpful is Kratom. I have zero withdrawals whats so ever! Kratom behaves as a μ-opioid receptor agonist like morphine. Maeng de is what I use. Kratom comes from a tropical deciduous and evergreen tree in the coffee family. Comes in capsules..when I need it, I take 6. It is found in head shops and some nutrition stores.

I was at the point where I could have lost everything I worked for my entire life because of my opiate addiction. I was tired of being lonely and depressed and I knew it was only up to me to get my life back on track. I have a friend who also dealt with addiction, so I took his advice and got withdrawal aid. I never heard of them until he told me and I was a bit reluctant. However, I found that the pills are made from natural ingredients, so they have no side effects. I got their offer http://withdrawalaid.com/store/withdrawal-aid-system-two-months-nightime and started my withdrawal process. The pills really helped with all the symptoms, including anxiety and lack of energy. You should give it a try.

Look at it this way, What's better to die painfully or withdrawal painfully??? opiates withdrawal won't kill ya brah.. Do whatever you can to soothe the pain. Taper off of it. If you fu** up keep tapering. People tend to lead us the wrong way only you know whats up

I had a mild addiction to HydroCodone for about 5 months. No more than 3(1o mg apiece) pills aday. And trust me, it was not fun coming off of them. I didn't have severe withdrawal, like vomiting, or shakes...but I did get hot/ cold flashes and a little bit of a lost appetite.
But the trouble is....there is an acute phase of withdrawal that lasts for about 4-5 months after you stop using opiates. This can include mood swings, crippling depression, lack of sleep, axiety....The longer the acute phase depends of the level of opiate use.

I have found that marijuana is a miracle drug in both stages of withdrawal.
I had severe depression and mood swings, and smoking some decent grade weed helped alot.

One day, the only medicine I will bother to take is some good high quality herb. Even if the doctors tell me I need something else...I won't take it.

WEED IS ALL I NEED.

Good luck to you all.

Having took three years plus to complete the methadone program, one thing I can say is, in the end it still hurts just as bad if you taper down or were to quit cold turkey. I got down to 6mg of methadone from 150 and said f it I'm done. It was no less or more comfortable than a cold turkey. Plus I had been with drawling for over a year at that point from the tapering down of mg. it was like a slow and painful death lol.

On a positive note the intensity of withdrawal will diminish after 36 hour. by diminish I mean won't get anymore intense it will slowly taper down after that amount of time. I know you still feel "off" for months after that but with some will power it's not a big deal. The trick is to somehow in your head forget about that stuff. Let it go and except you can't live your life while on that substance. I'm a believer in counseling, there's a lot of things going on upstairs that keep you using, and once those demons are gone it makes it ten times easier to quit.

I was just scared of myself, what I should do in my life ect ect. It dug a pretty deep hole but once I climbed out of it and excepted that life isn't a question you can answer, things started to fall in place for me.

I guess what what im getting at is if you want to stop it all starts with your mind. Your mind is the first thing that goes when you relaps and the first thing that must be put back together to quit using. It puts light on the phrase you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. Us addicts are strong motherfuckers, we endure many hardships through our addiction that in the end is way worse than sitting down for a week and sweating it out:)

I took ritilan from age 7 to 16 and got off that shit while using weed. I smoked cigarets for a few months but those were pretty easy to quit, easier then chew. I have popped loratab.. I have occasionally but never on a daily basis. I've also abused pro methazine with codeine. I've had drinking binges which are no fun, waking up craving a beer. I'm glad I've never done bad shit on a daily basis, your guys stories give me even more reason to stay away from that shit it has killed my aunt and my mothers meds have sent her off the deep end I can barley stand to be around her anymore. Face sores, always twitching and shit. Stuffs no good I'll stick to Mary Jane, some quality brew and maybe a few shrooms :)

I was prescribed Methadone for over 5 yrs. I only took 50mg a day max. It took me 6mo. to taper off and another 6mo. before I started to feel normal. I did not get any diarrhea or nausea but was extremely restless and uncomfortable, it was Hell. I'm wondering how much worst it would have been if I would have gone CT? If I would have been informed correctly about this med. before having it prescribed to me I would have never touched the stuff. The half life is so long that it keeps building up in your system to massive levels. Six months after I stopped taking it I asked my Doctor to check to see if any was still in my system. I still had quite a large amount still left. It takes forever to get it completely out, then your whole body has to re-adjust to not having it. Pretty nasty stuff in my opinion. The reason I decided to get off of it was because the side effects were starting to get pretty bad for me, others might tolerate it better.

I've been taking Vicodin 10/325 for little over 2 years now. They're prescribed to me by my doctor. I Normally don't have to go back after my prescription runs out, i'll just call and tell them on the answering machine that i need a refill, and within 24hrs CVS is calling me telling me my prescription is ready. I May not be on some of the Hardcore opioid medications like some of you, but coming off of these are just as hard on me.

I Normally take them for a while then i'll make myself take a break from it. For the first week the pain in my joints, especially my knees is magnified x10. Along with that, i get stomach cramps, diarrhea, sleepless nights etc.. I Use to stop cold turkey, but i don't do that any more. Every Prescription i get refiled i take a couple and put them in another bottle and when i decide it's time to take a break from it, i will take my normal dose, then i'll cut the next dose in half ..... and so on and so forth until i'm out. I Still get the withdrawl symtoms, but they're not intense.

Also, i'll clear my scheduled for about a week and sit at home in the bed or on the pc, watch a bunch of movies, order pizza (make sure you get everything beforehand tho, because you're not wanting to go out when coming off of these).. But if things get too bad, i always got some kratom stashed away and i'll take that to take the edge off.
