the bubba fan leaves have some spots on them.. and they dont seem to be getting any better
-also do the roots look okay? they are kinda orange/brown maybe but the shorter ones look white

the fire is really slow.. and the one leaf that is yellow is worrying me.. kinda turning almost purple.

other than that.. not really much goin on. got the res changed in there late sunday night. added 1/4 str nutes.

do you have any clarifier? I did the same thing to my mothers when i moved them to the flower room, not as bad as you got going on there, leaves started clawing and turning brown spots, I flushed res with a clarifier, also cleared the root system and they are looking much better. The clarifier will clear all salt build up that is in the roots discoloring them. But yeah 18 days would seem very soon for 3/4 strength, my clones are a week older than yours and the roots are 5 times longer but i am only just now at 1/2 strength and i still got a little tip burn

is your system aero ponics or bubble ponics? are the roots submerged? I dont quite get the whole picture, I know i left the thread for a little while. cant remember reading how you are delivering the nuets to the roots.

Ok so went through the whole thread,
you started with an aero garden, then went to a bubble system right?

here is why i asked, here are some pics of the clones i started on april 29th they are 5 weeks from cut using the aero head i showed you how to build.

Notice three things
1. growth showing a little leave tip burn after moving up to 1/2 strength
2. top of root cluster showing white with just a little nuet discoloration.
3. bottom of root cluster where it sets in the water redish brown from absorbing all the neuts.

sup sam thanks for stoppin by n helpin out man ++also great pics!
oh damn dude then yeah.. i def over fert.
im doin deep water culture. the roots are just floating in nute/ph balanced water
i dont have a water pump.. and im really short on cash. so i just bought a 10$ bucket and returned the AG to get some money back
im thinking of either buying all those parts or buying a pre-built bubbleponics for my next grow, once i can save up enough cash

but damn your babies look really good..
i cant believe after 5 weeks, just starting with 1/2 would burn man..
the fox nutes said to start 1/4 at clone and increase each week.. im definitely gonna start way later next time.

for those pics, what can you do to avoid that?
like the tip burn, should you go for 1/4 on week 5?
for the discoloring and absorbing.. what could you do to stop that? bubbleponics and aeroponics?
where would i get that clarifier?

oh yeah also, for the guide you gave me for aeroponics, basically the top section is just the sprayers and roots hanging there gettin water from the sprayers and then the bottom res is where the water and nutes go to be sucked out by those sprayers right? and the semi-clear plastic tub that goes on top, covering the pods, is that for seeds?

hey guys.. little status report

the og fire is lookin good, she is starting to actually grow pretty fast now.. some new leaves/longer.. roots are longer.. awesome stuff
-im wondering if i should do anything to that purple fan leaf..

the bubba looks good too.. cept some small things.. i tied down 2 of the branches that were kinda just in the way of all the other leaves.. growing into them and stuff.
-alot of new black spots are appearing everywhere.. on new leaves/old ones/middle ones.. what should i do?
-im wondering if i should do anything about the leaves with black spots/yellowing/weird spots.. maybe like cut off the part thats dieing?
-some of the middle leaves are starting to curl again.. just like the other ones when it was younger.. im thinking its just gonna keep curling all of them and only the leaves up top will be healthy.. what should i be watching out for? what does the curling mean?

Damn im not too sure whats going on, if its just that one leaf turng black i would just cut it off and see if any other leaves starting doing the same, i would just leave them in plain pH'd water for now

theres actually a couple of them.. its even starting on the new small baby leaves.. should i just cut off the black sections of every leaf? would that be harmful?

Well if its happening on alot of leaves then dont trim anything, i haven't seen this before so i dont kno what the problem is

ahhh fucked up.. was rising the head reflector.. and it fell right on top of my babies..

the bubba got fucked in the lower section.. the right side where the fan leave that has bigger brown spots, that whole branch broke.. was hanging on with a really really small strip.. so no chance it could really live. i cut her off.. all the strings were fucked too.. the main stem was a little bent.. i got some new strings on there.. damn hope she will be okay.. what do you guys think? how will it affect her?

the fire og... im worried about her. she kinda basically went 90 degrees.. no snap or anything, but there was a big bend. i stringed her up and pulled her back, so she stands.. hope she will recover. and also a little top part of the new growth on her was bended downwards. plus a little side branch broke..

what a shitty unlucky day..

Damn Dude , What a bummer......maybe put some tape or some kinda band aid on that split stem...It looks minor though, I bet they pull thru just fine....too bad though....

As long as the hollow center is not broken it will heal with some help. You could try wrapping it with floral tape until it heals.

a little tip burn wont hurt but starting low and working up for sure
like the tip burn, should you go for 1/4 on week 5?
yep 1/4 is better for seedlings and depending on the root structure I started with half strngth but remeber i used a cloning solution and i did soe tip burn when going to 1/2 strngth
for the discoloring and absorbing.. what could you do to stop that? bubbleponics and aeroponics?
where would i get that clarifier?

oh yeah also, for the guide you gave me for aeroponics, basically the top section is just the sprayers and roots hanging there gettin water from the sprayers and then the bottom res is where the water and nutes go to be sucked out by those sprayers right? and the semi-clear plastic tub that goes on top, covering the pods, is that for seeds?
so yes the top bucket is just the sprayers the roots never get fully submerged in water spray is 15 minutes every 2 hours, water drains to bottom tub, in bottom tub add water and nuets and there is a pump in there that pumps the water up to the sprayers need a higher volume pump the small ones dont make a spray more like a drissle that wont reach up the stem
the top clear dome is to keep humidity in the plants cant get water without roots so they will intake moisture through the leaves the dome keeps the humidity high enough i remove the hood and spray the inside 2-3 times a day

the clarifyer can be purchased at any hydro shop or onlime the big tomato.com has it

hey guys.. sorry havin been updating much. been kinda busy this weekend
they are doing better.. still growin, so all good.
but im so sad that it happened.. such a shame
thanks sam.. really good info :leaf::leaf:

-i trimmed off the fan leave from the og fire that was pink.. it was the only leaf with the pink stuff.
-for the bubba, i just trimmed off 1 leaf because it was getting really bad. i want to trim some other ones.. but im not sure if i should touch em or just let em be..
-and for tomorrows res change im just gonna use plain phd water.

also i put some peroxide in there and those roots are looking really better.. the og fire looks a little brown in the pic.. not sure why because its actually white. and the bubba has a little bit left, but its a lot whiter than before.

new update.. they really started taking off about 2 days ago.. i hadn't updated in a while because they were kinda just chillin.. not much new growth. but this monday i put in about 1/4 str nutes and they started growin really fast in the last 2 days. this is day 43 of the bubba kush and 34 of the fire og kush. i think the og kinda stretched to get to the light.. and it leans to the left a lot.. so i rearranged some lights.. but they are both about the same height - 12in.

so i measured everything again - i got 5 1/2 feet of space from the floor to the wooden bar. the res is about 10in high, and im planning on getting 400w HPS for flowering, which im estimating about 8in, so together 1 1/2 ft -- leaves me 4 feet exactly for actual plant height. and since its indica, i dont think it will get 3x, but more like 2-2.5x as high, so im planning to veg at 18in. what do you guys think of my plan? 2 plants at 400w HPS? height estimations? any feedback is great
-also i forgot about the distance that the light has to be from the plants.. hps is more powerful.. so i think i would need to keep it a ft away, so maybe all i will have is 3 ft of plant height.. should i flower at 15in?

ive been looking around trying to get some ideas for venting my sliding door closet.. im almost about ready to just cut holes in the door.. but i really dont want to do that unless its the only way.. if anyone has some idea for venting, id really appreciate the help

i was also wondering if i should fim it anytime soon.. i dont want to top because i want 4 main colas.. or more if possible.

last of all.. im planning on getting this:
http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47929
would it be okay if i used a 3way-2way converter for the ballast?

Sounds like you got things figured out.

As far as that plug adapter goes, I wouldn't chance it. That third prong is an essential part of the circuit making it less hazardous. If a wire were to come loose inside your ballast and touch the case, it would shock the living shit out of you when you touched it if you didn't have that third wire hooked up.

thanks man for sure. im gonna look into a 50ft heavy duty extension cable and rewire everything.

little update..
im actually planning on taking everything out for an hour or maybe 30 minutes and putting up some panda film to create more of a sealed environment. some leaves are mysteriously getting holes in them.. lol. and it'll look better too.
and im not gonna go with a 400hps because there is just no way i can sufficiently cool it enough without getting a good hood/reflector + ducting/vent. so im getting a 250w instead. found a great deal, 120$ for the whole 250w setup.

also, i have a concern about the height.. ill try n get some pics tonight, but the bubba has just been chillin.. for a long ass time. the og fire was way shorter than the bubba when i got her, but now she has outgrown the bubba height and reached about 16 inches!!
my bubba is only 12-almost 13 inches. and its been stuck like that for a while.. but there are some benefits. the bubba has a shitload of side growth, lots of potential bud sites.. ill count later tonight.. but no vertical growth. but the og fire is much skinnier and doesn't have as much side branches and stuff.
so when do you guys think i should start flowering?
i wont be getting the hps for atleast another week i think.. im either waiting on my paycheck or trying to sell this inline ash catcher. but i do have 250w of CFLs in there... ill get some new pics - i modified some stuff.

also i had 1 question about the cfl light placement. i have them all around the plants, 4 on top, 2 on back left - 2 on back right - 1 front right, 1 front left.
but im thinking if i did all 10 on top it would be better.. like 5 left and 5 right. what do you guys think? they are cfls.. but i think the surrounding thing im doing is causing such a bushy bubba.. or maybe its the bubba genetics?
