Only want to grow 1 plant need help!

If i wanted to grow just one plant:
firstly could i use a normal lamp with a normal bulb (which does give out quite alot of heat for some reason)

how long would i need to keep it on?

any specific seeds that would be easier to grow with?

and just the general step by step guide.

Ive read alot of the threads by its just so overwhelming.

ha if you use and incandescent, you wont get any thing

A high quality picture of the sun will give you better lighting with much less heat.

You would have to replace that bulb w/ a CFL bulb w/ as much wattage as possible. Have it on for 18hrs and off for 6 to veg(grow) it, then to switch to flowering switch the light cycle to 12/12. I would suggest you get a few more lamps though. 3 minimum if you want some good bud.
