In order to turn a female plant male without stressing it out, all you need is some Silver Thiosulfate, also known as STS. If you apply STS to female plants it will modify their ethylene levels, which is the hormone in charge of determining the sex of certain plants.
Add your Silver Thiosulfate to 400ml of distilled water, so you'll have around 450ml of STS. Make sure to shake quite a lot until it's completely mixed. It's still much too concentrated to apply straight onto your plants; take 100ml of the mixture you just made and add it to 400ml more of distilled water.
This dilute is potent enough to use . There are diy vids online also. Also available ready to use from ebay , etsy and amazon if you want it already to use.

alright fair enough!! I just meant for your personal use and if you're fucking around trying to make different strains! I just think it's a cool concept! Especially if you have prime genetics!

May I ask how you came across this thread. Just being you didn’t input knowledge to the thread which is totally ok with me. But I wonder how other people find threads like this. Usually I get a lot of help here

What I meant was that a person who is just cross pollinating plants, with no formal genetics training, isn't a breeder anymore than a person who is "breeding" neighborhood dogs. The common term for untrained and hobbyist cannabis breeders is "pollen chuckers".

I've been working on a cross for over 2 years working on making an IBL. I'll have F5 seeds here shortly.
Why would you want to start with a clone? I started from seed with 2 IBL's. A sativa and an indica. I guess there is nothing wrong with starting from a clone but then you're starting with someone else's hybrid. I wanted to start from scratch. Or as close as I could get. The main cross I'm working on is a PCK + Durban. But along the way I've taken what I started with and have created many different branches by using pollen from that cross to pollinate other IBL's and landraces. I currently have both a male and female PCK / Durban F3 + Mazar I Shariff, a landrace from Afghanistan from one of the branches I made that I'll be making seeds from. The male is almost ready and pistils are forming on the female. I'm excited to see where it goes.
I guess there are different goals when it comes to breeding. I'm not interested in making crosses of any of the popular strains and then working those out. I wanted to start from scratch as much as I could. It's like baking a cake. You can start with a mix of ingredients or you can make it all from scratch. I have many landrace genetics from all over the world. Those are what I will be using into the future to create my own strains.
I guess what I want to do is look back at the lineage of what I make and see nothing but genetics like Thai, Durban, Panama, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Honduras, Ethiopia, etc... I don't want to look at the lineage of what I make and see Cookies, Gorilla, White Widow, etc...
Anyway it's all good. I'm having fun and these projects give me more satisfaction than just harvesting weed. Harvesting seeds is much more rewarding to me at this phase of my cannabis growing. It's also more rewarding to me to look at the plants I'm growing and say to myself "that's mine, I made that". And to be honest, the stuff I grow that I've crossed myself is pretty damn good. I'll never buy seeds again unless it's a landrace I really want.

Only because it's a good exercise toward understanding real breeding. I'm not suggesting that it's the way to become a breeder, only suggesting that it's a good way to get your feet wet.
