Hey Im still a beginner and wanted to go all organic, 100% while Im still learning along the way.. I just mixed my own soil consisting of 6gal ProMix BX, 1/2gal added perlite, 3cups high P bat guano, 2tbsp/gal hydrated lime, and 1gal EWC.. This is going to be used after 3weeks veg in the same mix but with 2cups high N bat gauno, I think I got the ratios right from a recipe I found online but wanted a second opinion.. Do you let the soil sit in the sun covered or uncovered? Wet it or leave it in its container dry? Sorry for being such a noob..
Also trying to make my own tea but idk if Im doing it right. I have a dual aquarium pump bubbling 2 cups EWC and a few tbsps of high P guanos..

Thanks in advance..

I found where I got the soil mix its LC's soil mix #2, I found out that dolomite and hydrated lime are two totally different types, one over time and the hydrated is fast acting.. I ended up doubling my soil, perlite, and guanos to get a lower ratio of the hydrated lime, idk if thats going to work towards what I wanted but I hope so.. Next grow I'll start off with regular soil and get some clones to test the new soil..

I cook my soil in a wheelbarrow covered by a tarp and keep the soil - wet/moist. You don't want standing water but don't let it get dry. I leave mine at least a month before using. What are you doing for potassium?

As far as the compost tea - what source of food are you providing the microbes and fungi that you are trying to grow? I use a T of molasses in 5 gallons and a handful of powdered oatmeal. If you want more fungi, then leave the mixture to sit moist for a couple of days so that some fuzz starts growing and then put it in your water and add molasses. It will grow more fungi since you have more to start with. Teaming with Microbes is an excellent book and really a rather easy read which may help you with teas, etc.

Yes someone also referred that book. I use Grandmas Unsulphured Molasses to feed the microbes in a 5 gallon bucket, about 10 to 15mL every 4-6 hours. I also use the GO Line to feed with bioweed and biobud. I havent been keeping my soil wet, I just mixed it and put it in the sun. I'll put my tea in the soil in the morning. I'll need to make some more, Im going to need a bigger air pump and a large tote. Will I be able to wash off the hydrated lime since its fast acting? If so will I be able to replace it with dolomite lime without any bad affects? I've also heard you can use horticulture lime or garden lime, is this the same as dolomite lime? Off topic question but I hope you can help, I was in my tent earlier before lights out and I was moving the plant lower from the light since its been growing. I have stacks of metal casings and boxes to level my plants distance from the light and my oldest plant fell from about 2 feet high straight sideways and its LST'd and topped, where the Y is it split down the middle about 2-3 inches, will this recover if I have it tied back together? The main stem did not break or bend off its just split, I wish I took a pic but I was cleaning up the soil and before I knew it, lights out.
