One Big Pot VS Two Smaller Pots - WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

Hello there my fellow growers

Now that my baby has stabilized as a proud and sturdy new born seedling comes the time to decide if she should have a sister...

So what do you guys think? Should I stick with one plant and go with ONE big 5L pot or germinate another seed and have two plants with smaller 3.5L pots?

Keep in mind both are smart pots and I will LST with either. Also there will be one more fan inside.

Thank you all very much

You need some space between the plants and light, with such limited vertical dimensions you really can't do much in there when the pots take up a third of that vertical real estate.

Really though, I admire the balls to grow in a PC case. Thats gonna be a lot of work for minimal reward unless it's just to root clones for a tent.

I am visualizing a solo cup, then maybe if you go 12/12 from seed on a very squat photo pheno maybe you could squeeze something in there

you have tose lights fixed, you will need to lift the plant up to the lights to grow it properly.
those bulbs are only 100 - 150w and arnt great for growing a large plant. but you may get away with two plants in 2 galon pots

but yeah, to the OP, not many of the threads where someone attempts to grow in a computer case actually go anywhere.

Hello there,

Yeah, as you guys said, she is never gonna get any large. And the LED is 84W, but im thinking about getting something a lil stronger..

So anyway, you think on this space, two plants and pots would be better?

Thank you very much for the reply

Lets focus on one plant first. Yes I see the logic in two short plants filling the space but really you may end up having to pull the one plant down "sideways" like super cropping a big plant in a cornfield to keep it below the level of the corn.

Strip LED is what you want. Put them right on the top of the case. That will save a lot of space and strips driven softly can be really close to the plants and you could turn them up when the plants are shorter. With some good strips you don't need more than 30-35 watts per sqft so obviously you won't need much.

well said, just stick to keeping it simple one plant at a time first, thanx renfro, that is a limited space to grow in
