Do you think heat will be that hard on them as long as they have plenty of water? I think I'm going to try that soil and mix in perlite, blood meal, bone meal, and lime

Ask and ye shall receive! :D

Oh, the freezer cured bud + regular cured bud = 88.4g dry. The water cure will have to be weighed afterwards, but I think there's about an oz in there! I'm guessing at 116.4g dry, for the main colas.

I'm guessing 150-160g dry for the rest, but we'll see :D

Beef why are you not my neighbour? :hump: those bitches look phat!

Now i've been trying to read up on this freezer cure, theres another thread on here and a few things across the net but I haven't seen it with plastic wrap in a closed jar?

Can you please educate me on how you are doing it and or have a link for some reading?

Also the water cure intrigues me as I have the worst smokers cough been smoking for almost 24 years and heard that would help me coughing and hacking?

Always down for some Beefy Bitches!!!

Hey thats what you should name you next grow thread Beefs Beefy Bitches!!! lol

Haha, thanks for stopping in man!

About the freezer cure;

I use seran wrap instead of the standard mason jar 'disk'. I poke holes in the seran wrap to let the RH slowly equalize. Water curing is by far the smoothest, you do lose a lot of flavour though.

The Mrs. has asthma and LOVVVEEEES the water cured buds, hence me delving into water cure territory once again. ;)

This water cure technique is completely alien and contrary to my intuition. WHAT is the science behind that, please?

THC and Canabinoids aren't water soluble, but chlorophyll and some of the other plant matter is. What happens is the water soluable compounds soak into the water, and as long as you're careful, the THC stays in/on the bud. When you can leave the water in the jar and it stays clear your cure is done. You just need to dry them.

Great work here Beef.....! The freezer cure is the easiest curing method i have found....put a few buds of my outdoor grow in there (loose paper bag) and they were mint...no smell...no fuss! :)

I take it your freezer is frost free aswell...read a few horror stories of soggy buds...:(

Awesome beef, that bud that is left is getting super purple. Love the colors. I heard water cure kills some of the bud flavor and I'm one of the strange few that smoke as much for the taste and smell as I do for the high, so that method won't be for me lol. I can't wait for pics of all the cures and harvest of what's left. Not to mention a badass smoke report. Now get to work, what am I paying you for? O wait I'm not, never mind lol. In all seriousness though thanks for the pics and awesome grow journal. I'll start my purps outside about mid may

Mine have all been more Indica like. Well, I suppose there are some sativa traits, but the leaves are shorter and fatter, and the plant itself is quite squat, and dense.

The buds themselves do have sativa like qualities to them, specifically the structure in which they grow. Long, somewhat whispy, calyx's... the buzz, from what I remember, was strong and hits you like a freight-train; I remember almost having a headache a few times after big tokes.

My Purps is from BC Bud depot, it's not 'Da Purps' or Mendicino Valley Purps, although it is a variation on the latter.
