Old Enough To Pollenate?

I was wondering just how old, or more precisely, how mature a female should be in order to get good pollination for intentional seed production?

If its an 8 week strain ive found week 4 to be the magic number, plenty of pistils and it doesnt retatd bud growth especially if its just a few lower buds and make sure to run it out to week9 to make sure you get plenty of viables
Just my opinion btw

I was looking for more specific physical traits. I don't always know the flowering time. Since the seeds have been bought, I will just force pollen and make my own strains for the most part from here on out.

Force pollen? Make your own strains? Care to elaborate?

Hmmm physical traits i guess itll be different from strain to strain but a little less than half way through flower the plant should look like its got calyx forming up into colas just smallish and lots and lots of white pistils all over. That help?

physical traits ..? I begin my painting routine(pollination) at the first sign of pistols
..weeks 3 maybe earlier but as bf80255 has mentioned week 4 is best
I'm of the opinion many of the earlier pistols have not matured, perhaps even false or sterile ..?
leave it too late and you risk getting immature seeds...that can be a bitch ...lol

Sure, it's easy. Either start messing with the light/dark schedule on a plant in early flowering, or use a collodial silver spray to force pollen sacs. If I have a couple strains I really like, I'll force pollen on one plant, then use the pollen on another, creating a new strain.

Not trying to burst your bubble but creating a new strain involves more than making hermi crosses of random plants.
Forcing a plant to hermi with a light cycle change will only give you hermi prone seeds that wont be worth much more than bird feed, CS works but again it takes more than making a cross to call something a nee strain
