oil made from everclear

When I was using everclear for oils I would just do a one to two minute at wash, maybe just a bit longer than with iso. Otherwise you end up extracting a lot of unwanted plant waxes and chlorophyll.
Ya I found that out :) at least we can get rid of the plant waxes (winterizing)

I've also recently discovered that if you use frozen fresh bud rather than dried, it doesn't extract as much chlorophyll due to the fact that the alcohol isn't really absorbed into the plant material, thereby resulting in a superior end product.

Not necessary freeze fresh flowers straight from the vine.
Ethanol does not penetrate to where the cells have the juice.
The result would be an excellent for flushing time up to 5 minutes.
It is important that the epithelium is not damaged.
Ask Google's theme of "Amber in 15 minutes from cutting" for details.

Decided to try 192 vodka instead of 190 everclear....wow big difference in smell first off...not as strong to the nose...might make a difference in the taste of the end product don't know

Ran outta butane and ISO but managed to find a bottle of everclear at a nearby liquor store. Got a small quanitity of frosty trims- maybe 8g- chillin in the freezer along with the bottle (not sure if freezing the alcohol helps but that's how I've done it with ISO in the past with success). I plan to evap on top of my dehumidifier just like I do with ISO but is a vac purge necessary? I mean I can vac it under low heat but doesn't the alcohol boil off at room temp?

You can soak the material in ethanol much longer than in iso before it turns green. I like to start at a 3 minute soak frozen to 0F.

Yes coicidentally I ended up doing about a 3 min wash until it began picking up a slight green tinge. After evap for 9 hrs though still had big drops of alcohol in the corners of the Pyrex- not done yet. It does have a nice gold color to it- very similar to the qwiso shatter I've made before. I'll post pics when it's all purged

And because that gold powdery dry shatter is hard to dab I put the pile as is on Pyrex into a hot water bath until it melted into a asteroid looking nugget of golden goodness... I bet it could get it to more of an amber shatter this way but I'm leaving well enough alone... Tastes awesome but a bit harsher than my BHO wax. I must say I favor the everclear over ISO now only because I can't find 99% anywhere and I realize how much water was in my past ISO extractions.... Here's what it looks like nowimage.jpgimage.jpg

The volunteer student panels we've had testing the different concentrates, mostly preferred the aroma and flavor of QWET over QWISO as well, though the few who preferred QWISO tended to feel strongly so.

Interesting! I remain partial to BHO wax but the qwet sure is fragrant though kind of harsh...a cough every time but it is quite potent

The extract voted most aromatic and tasty was fresh frozen BHO extraction, using a thermos for extraction and vacuum purging.
