are you sad little paulbots still talking about old ronnie as if he had anything going for him other than a suit two sizes too large and a sizable turtle collection?
Poor UB. You have that big blue dick so far down your throat your brain is starved of oxygen. Makes it hard to think clearly.

au contraire.

you would advise people in critical swing states to waste their votes on a feckless turtle fucker, even if it were to hand over the ship to captain romney.

Not at all. I would advise people to vote their conscience.

If you don't want to be complicit in the drug war, indefinite detention, flying robot killer drones, ascendance of the imperial presidency unbounded by the constitution, then vote for a presidential candidate who opposes those things. If you favor those things then vote for Obama. If the price of your vote is a monthly supply of BC pills paid for by somebody else, then by all means slobber on the big blue knob.

It's kind of funny that even though I made no mention of Ron Paul, you instinctively concluded RP was the constitutionalist.

More cheese, as long as the next guy pays for it, syndrome.

No, he's saying vote for the guy who actually espouses the principles of freedom and constitutionality.

Your post advises those of us who believe in freedom to abandon our principles and vote for a guy who has demonstrated that he cares nothing for constitutionality, freedom or fairness because it might mean the election of a different guy who would probably act no different.

To me this seems like a pretty easy choice, I prefer not to join in the red/blue circle jerk and instead make my vote count by rejecting both. For the sake of my conscience I want to know that I had no hand in next year's 850,000 cannabis arrests.

Obama accused of pulling a "Bait and switch", on the American people.

During his run for the presidency, Barack Obama instilled hope in medical marijuana supporters by pledging to respect state laws on the matter. And for the first two years of his term, he was generally faithful to his promise. Yet suddenly, and with no logical explanation, over the past eight months he has become arguably the worst president in U.S. history regarding medical marijuana... (Rob Kampia MPP)

I am not aware of a single current credible (excludes Ron) candidate who has a more accommodating position than Obama.
I would like a list of cases where a person who is in full compliance with a state's medical cannabis law has faced a successful federal prosecution.
I know that there are DOJ threats against dispensaries in California, and some less dire threats to dispensary zoning in Colorado. Take it down to the patient level, even consider cultivation. What cases are there? There's not a single one in my state. The federal courts even stood down when they had a chance to totally shut it down. I know where the arguments are coming from, but the hysteria is increasing even in a scenario where there is a distinct lack of action from the people who are supposedly "cracking down." I don't think President Obama is as involved in the movement as he could be if he chose to regard it as a significant issue, but I also think that's the reason he's looking like an anti-cannabis tyrant. He's not doing *anything* about it, and leaving the Justice Department with the status quo they've had for decades.

Anyway, I'll do my own research, but who here has a current federal case against someone who is otherwise in total compliance with a state's laws?

Ron Paul has promised immediate pardon of all non violent drug offenders. Something he is quite capable of doing as President.
The number of people in federal prison who don't have some aggravating factor to their drug conviction is pretty small. Most of the people in the affected class are in jails at the state, county and city level, and no presidential pardon will do a thing for them.

Prison isn't really the risk we face. It's civil asset forfeiture, and being labeled as a pariah and made forever unemployable and forbidden from even leaving the country and entering Canada. Jail is nothing compared to those consequences.

I love it that even a lot of right-wing assholes can use and enjoy and otherwise benefit from cannabis. Just part of the miracle of this amazing and eternal plant.

I'm not sure how that impinges on my argument. I am also not sure if I am or am not placed in the "assholes" category you mentioned in your last post. cn

Wasnt the original federal law outlawing marijuana then handed down to the states who model their own laws from it? We were promised by Obama he was going to rethink the whole war on marijuana because it does not work. How does/is threatening sick cancer patients and other not well persons many of whom are terminal with shutting off their medication suddenly become not Obamas responsibility? Its tyrannical, and another fine political strategy of the not me guy in office. Dont ask dont tell was an honored policy that came from the pres at a time when there were not enough votes to change that law. They could employ the same type of thing here with mmj.

Here is reality. Obama thinks he is a king.

He is fucking with Arizona over immigration.

He is fucking with Texas over voter ID.

He is fucking with medial marijuana states.

There isnt a power he does not think the federal government does not have to compel the states to do anything he wants.
