Obama is the only candidate who can give Americans Jobs!

The president coming to your hometown is one thing. His arrival in a monstrous shimmering black bus is another.

The Secret Service's new $1.1-million behemoth was almost as big an attraction as the president himself during his back-roads tour of the Midwest. People pointed at it. Children gaped at it. And just about everyone was curious about it......

....It has also attracted another kind of attention: Republicans can't stop bringing up its cost, making the bus sound like a boondoggle. In the new age of austerity, a million-dollar bus is an irresistible target — especially because it was built in Canada rather than the U.S.

"This is an outrage that the taxpayers of this country would have to foot the bill so that the campaigner in chief can run around in his Canadian bus and act as if he is interested in creating jobs in our country," Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Tuesday.

Other conservatives were snarkier. Dana Loesch, a "tea party" activist and CNN contributor, wrote Tuesday on Twitter: "Nothing says, 'Let's tour America and talk about jobs!' than a big, black, hearse mobile of doom."

At his rural economic forum in Iowa Tuesday, President Obama exhorted the need to boost the manufacturing and export of U.S. cars and trucks to create jobs.
"We've got folks in America driving Kias and Hyundais. I want to see folks in Korea driving Fords and Chryslers and Chevys," Obama said, drawing applause.
"I want to sell goods all over the world that are stamped with three words: 'Made in America.'"
But it turns out the president's new custom motor coach comes stamped with a brand that's located someplace else: Canada.

The service acquired two of the new campaign-style buses last year as additions to the government's protective fleet. Could the government have purchased a bus that was made entirely, or almost entirely, in America? In theory, yes.
The only U.S.-headquartered coach manufacturer, Motor Coach Industries, based in Schamburg, Ill., also builds the country's only "buy American compliant" coach, the majority of whose parts are made here, an MCI spokeswoman said.

the 'article', more like an op-ed, which I chose for it's obvious attempt at attacking the government (let's not forget the SS is an independent government agency which for the most part acts in SECRET without direct presidential oversight), makes it perfectly clear: the secret service, the client, used a US based contractor to build a vehicle. a Nashville based firm was the contractor.

The U.S. Secret Service does more than protect Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. — the agency also pays him rent.
Since April, Mr. Biden has collected more than $13,000 from the agency charged with protecting him and his family for use of a rental cottage adjacent to the waterfront home he owns in a Wilmington, Del., suburb.
Mr. Biden, listed not as vice president in federal purchasing documents but as a “vendor,” is eligible for up to $66,000 by the time the government contract expires in the fall of 2013, the records show.
Officials say the arrangement came about when a previous tenant moved out of the cottage and the Secret Service moved in.
Edwin M. Donovan, special agent in charge at the Secret Service’s Office of Government and Public Affairs in Washington, said the agency pays $2,200 in rent per-month, the same amount a previous tenant had paid before moving out.​
