Obama Campaign making a KILLING

from an email I recieved from the Obama campaign (I've been planning on donating but I've been lazy, lol)... I've bolded a few parts for emphasis:
Friend --

Remember that deadline we kept emailing you about a couple weeks ago?

Here's what you should know about what we'll report to the FEC tomorrow:

-- In the third fundraising quarter of this year, 606,027 people donated to this campaign -- even more than gave in the record-breaking previous quarter.
-- Those people gave more than 766,000 total donations -- 98 percent of them $250 or less, at an average amount of $56. That's more than twice as many donations than we had at this point in the historic 2008 campaign.
-- We are focused on building infrastructure that will help us win in 2012. And each quarter we set a combined goal for the campaign and our allies at the Democratic National Committee. We far exceeded our goal of $55 million this quarter between the two organizations.
-- Together, Obama for America and the DNC raised more than $70 million. And it all happened during a summer when the President was focused on doing the job he was elected to do -- a summer when we had to cancel a series of fundraising events and ask everyone to dig a little deeper.

If I could sum up this last quarter in a few words: Supporters like you came through.

Here's even bigger news: Right now, 982,967 people have donated to this campaign. We're within striking distance of 1 million donors.

It's not too late for you to be part of that first million. And get this -- someone who has already given to the campaign is willing to give again, matching whatever donation you make today.

Double your impact and be part of the first million people to own this campaign -- make a donation now.

Part of the reason we send you all these emails is that we don't accept any money from special-interest groups or Washington lobbyists.

So getting to a million grassroots donors isn't just a huge accomplishment this early in the campaign. It's our answer to our opponents, the press, and anyone who wants to know whether the President's supporters have his back.

The reality is that on top of the hundreds of thousands of supporters from 2008 who decided to make another donation, 257,635 people made their first donation ever to the Obama organization -- continuing the record pace we set in the previous quarter.

That support translates directly to what we can do on the ground. In the past three months we've grown our organizing staff by 50 percent, and opened up three new field offices every week. Thousands of volunteers and organizers made 3 million phone calls and in-person visits to voters.

That's all because nearly 1 million people decided to take ownership.

And the continued pace of that growth is up to you -- we will open more offices, train more organizers, and knock on more doors at the pace you make possible.

When Republicans think it helps their political fortunes to block the progress that the President is advocating for, we have to speak up and mobilize.

You know why it's important to engage right now. We're up against a Republican Party and special interest-funded groups that will spend hundreds of millions of dollars spreading any message that they believe will defeat the President and roll back our efforts to build a fairer economy that rewards hard work and responsibility, not large corporations.

But we've also got to build for the long term. That's what all the fundraising and deadlines are about: building the organization now that will put us in a position to win in 2012.

Thanks for all you did to get us here. I'm excited for what's ahead, and I hope you'll take part in the push to 1 million grassroots donors today.

Match someone's pledge, double your impact, and become part of the first million today:

Thanks,

Only 760k from non-corporations pretty fucking pathetic, Ron paul does that every week and takes ZERO money from SuperPACS....shit Ron Paul has done 12 times that in 24 hours on multiple occasions.

And ofcourse its 250$ or less, any more and it has to be reported on your taxes, can't believe he still uses that as a talking point to try to pretend like its all poor people or something....

Better get going buddy cause Ron Paul is at least 50 million ahead in private donations at this point, here from q2 just active military:

Its not 760,000 dollars, its 760,000 donations equaling over $33 million OVER A YEAR. so if RP is getting 1.1 million per week, they are doing 63% better. But Obama is taking stacks of cash from Pacs, Super pacs and whoring himself out to all the too big to exist banksters. Which gives him an additional 20 million lead over RP.

Oh right thats what I thought it was more like, I speed read the letter and was thinking wtf thats even more pathetic then I thought, RP does suprass that overall however, I'd have to get those figures but got to go right now, RP has raised 12 million in just 24 hours, 4 million several 24 hour periods, and frequently 1+ million in 24 hours with his money bombs.

Most of obamas money comes from corporate and special interest, the same goes for ALL the other canididates with one exception, Ron Paul who doesnt accept money from lobbyist and superpacs...Ron Paul is 100% grass roots.

I think you should be more embarrassed, you grow marijuana and call yourself a liberal yet you support obama, a man who stands against marijuana and other humanitarian issues, you should be ashamed.

What a load of bullshit, Ron Paul works with tons of democrats and hes one of the only pro hemp and pro marijuana federal politician....Why do you think that the corporate interest, the same interest that controls the democrats and the republicans don't want you to vote for Ron Paul?

Ron Paul is the one they don't want you to vote for....hes the only one that doesn't receive corporate money, hes the one that gets ignored by the corporate media..

And the "Republica's",,,In the house and senate,,,To save the future,,,:wall:,,,Look who he is "Seated" with",,,,,,All you see is the "Ron Paul smoke screen",,,Put in you contact's.kiss-ass:-P
Hes seated with the people, not the corporate interest, every bill Ron Paul put forward and supported was not a partisan issue, but a corporations/government vs the people issue.

Every time he has voted, hes voted in our interest...to protect our rights..

Ron Paul exposed the FED so far they are missing 9 trillion dollars that went to off-shore banks. His bill to audit the FED was unanimously supported in congress.

You understand how much is at risk for them If Ron Paul was president? You understand that we can save this economy? You see now why this is sooo important to so many people, why so many people are passionate about this?

Ron Paul looked in the first Room of the feds basement and found it full of bodies, should he see whats in the other rooms or leave? He can if he is elected to president...he can check all of those rooms.

This one really stuck out at me, seems Obama has plenty of "grassroots" support.

Ill post again because it was an edit above....Please answer me this:

i see no problem with growing cannabis, calling myself a liberal, and supporting obama in some respects rather than a nowhere-to-be-found alternative.

do you only cheerlead for who you think will win, or who you want to win?
i want obama to win the next election, so i would say i am cheerleading (just barely though) for the one who i want to win.
